GREEN BAY, Wis. Just as the Packers are getting one wide receiver back on the field, they might be losing another. Coach Mike McCarthy announced Friday that Jordy Nelson, who's missed the past three games with a hamstring injury, is probable for Green Bay's regular-season finale Sunday in Minnesota against the Vikings. "I feel good about Jordy Nelson," McCarthy said. "He's gone through a full week of work. He felt good this morning going through the medical evaluation. So I have no reason not to believe that he'll be ready to go Sunday." However, the Packers' No. 1 receiver this season, Randall Cobb, is questionable after suffering a right ankle and knee injury last weekend. "We had a menu set for him as far as going through a workout; He was able to accomplish that," McCarthy said of Cobb. "He did some returns. He took some practice reps. So we'll see how he is in the morning. He looked pretty good." Cobb, who broke the franchise's single-season record for all-purpose yards, leads Green Bay in receptions, targets and receiving yards. The team's 2011 second-round pick has not missed a game yet due to injury in his career. "You have a player coming off an injury, a very good player as far as returner and offensive player," McCarthy said. "So we'll let Sunday answer that question (about what Cobb's role might be.)" Defensive back Charles Woodson was ruled out of Sunday's game earlier this week, marking the ninth consecutive game that the former Defensive Player of the Year will miss due to a broken collarbone. Last week, Woodson was adamant that he'll still be ready for the playoffs. "Whenever the time comes, I know how to play football," Woodson said. "That's one thing you don't forget. Just because you have time off, doesn't mean you forget how to play the game. I know how to play the game. I know the defense, and so when that time comes, I'll be ready." Woodson has yet to be cleared by the Packers medical staff, but McCarthy seems to have little doubt about the 15th-year veteran's availability for the postseason. "Well a lot of our decisions, you have risk assessment," McCarthy said. "I think that the time I have spent around Charles Woodson, his risk assessment will go out the window when it comes time to play in a playoff game. We're trying to be smart with this. Obviously he's part of the decision, but it's the doctor's call right now." In Woodson's absence, rookie cornerback Casey Hayward has performed very well in the slot. That is where Woodson is most effective, but defensive coordinator Dom Capers is not worried about using both players. "To me, (Woodson) is a good football player," Capers said Friday. "There's always a role for good football players. Our job is to find out ways to get our best football players out on the field. That could mean changing some of the packages and that type of thing. That's what we always go through. 'Hey, how can we get our best playmakers on the field?' and try to put them in the best position to go make plays." Running back James Starks (knee) is out and cornerback Davon House (shoulderhip) is listed as doubtful, but the rest of Green Bay's injury report is in pretty good shape. Tight end Tom Crabtree (hamstring), kicker Mason Crosby (illness), starting center Evan Dietrich-Smith (knee), running back Alex Green (concussion), center Jeff Saturday (neckshoulder), right guard Josh Sitton (concussion) and defensive ends C.J. Wilson (knee) and Jerel Worthy (hamstring) are all probable. Follow Paul Imig on Twitter.
