Projecting The Defensive Roster II

Offense drives interest in the NFL, but I find myself more and more intrigued by the defense that this team is putting together. I’m not completely sold on all parts of it yet, but I am more comfortable with it than I was a month ago. Plus, the strength of the line should help cover some of the flaws in the secondary. Let’s take another stab at how the defensive roster might...

Orson Charles exceeding Bengals coaches' expectations

As late as a few days going into the 2012 NFL Draft, many analysts had former University of Georgia tight end, Orson Charles, slated as a fringe first to second round draft pick in mock drafts. He was labeled as a "finisher" after catching and running with the ball, as well as a physical specimen. An unfortunate DUI incident had Charles slipping into the fourth round...

Dalton looking to take charge more

One of the bigger storylines surrounding Andy Dalton and the Bengals' offense during offseason workouts has mainly centered around arm strength.Had this been a vertical scheme run by former offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski, the concerns would be warranted. But with Jay Gruden running a West Coast Offense, it is a more horizontal-based attack. That hasn't stopped Dalton...

Pacman ordered to pay $11M to victims

The troubled Bengals cornerback has stayed out of the news of late, but his involvement in an incident at a strip club in 2007 will now cost him dearly.

Projecting The Offensive Roster II

With minicamp wrapped up, it is time to make an official update of the roster projections to kick off a discussion of how players are progressing. The end of minicamp marks the end of activities for the next 6 weeks until the start of training camp. So sound off about who you think ought to be moved up or down, and we will see who is right once camp gets going. There ought to be...

Bengals' Dalton more comfortable being leader

If a receiver runs the wrong route, Andy Dalton isn't shy about taking him aside and correcting the problem. The quarterback is more comfortable with his role as a leader entering his second season with the Cincinnati Bengals, taking more responsibility on his inexperienced shoulders. He was so concerned about learning the play book as a rookie last season that he left a lot...

Taylor Mays enjoying all aspects of 2012 Bengals OTAs and minicamp

If one were to ever get a candid answer out of defensive coordinator, Mike Zimmer about Taylor Mays, you'd probably find out the the ol' ball coach loves the young safety. If you remember, stories circulated about Zimmer standing on the table for the team trade up in the second round to grab Mays in the 2010 draft. When they missed out on him, Zimmer made sure that Bengals...

Fantasy Football: Andy Dalton A Great Value Draft Pick

With all the talk about picking up a top-end quarterback in the first couple rounds, a player I’ve noticed that has been left out of the discussion is Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton. Dalton surprised everyone last year by putting up 3,398 passing yards and 20 touchdowns in the 15 games that he started as a rookie. he is only the third rookie quarterback to ever surpass the...

Marvin Lewis and the Bengals haven't spoken about a contract extension "in a while"

Months preceding his eventual two-year extension in 2011, the Cincinnati Bengals front office worked hard to get head coach Marvin Lewis signed to an extension. It wasn't until after the team's disastrous four-win season that reported demands surfaced, ranging from control over his coaching staff, increased scouting department to possibly an indoor practice facility. ...
