Tweet Last season, former Green Bay Packers tight end JerMichael Finley suffered a sever neck injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the season as well as threatened to end his NFL career. With Finley currently available as a free agent, the Packers are hoping Finley would be open to returning to their team next season. “In my mind he is a Green Bay Packer — hopefully,” packers head coach Mike McCarthy said on SiriusXM Radio with Rich Gannon, via ESPN Wisconsin. “[Finley] is going through a tough medical situation. I think we all recognize that it was a serious injury. My understanding is he is doing everything and beyond to get himself ready. We’ll continue to watch that.” Finley is still waiting to be cleared medically but when he was healthy, he was one of the league’s top tight ends. Before the injury, Finley had caught 25 passes for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns in six games for Green Bay, and had registered 55+ receptions and over 660 yards in each of the previous two seasons prior to 2013. The Packers drafted TE Richard Rodgers out of Cal in the third round last week, but if Finley returns to Green Bay with a clean bill of health it would be a blessing for the Packers. -ALR

Aaron Rodgers reportedly dating Olivia Munn

The word on the street indicates that once renowned geek goddess Olivia Munn is currently embroiled in a rebound romance with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Munn, who recently split from her last boyfriend, “RoboCop” star Joel Kinnaman, was spotted with the former MVP and Super Bowl-winning signal-caller at Nobu Malibu, stealing kisses, laughing […] The post Aaron...

How does Ha Ha Clinton-Dix improve the Packers defense?

The Green Bay Packers selected safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix out of Alabama with the 21st overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. They went into the draft looking for some help in their defensive secondary, and they got the top rated safety in the entire draft. Anytime that you can draft the top rated player at any position, it is a successful draft, and the Packers are very happy with the...

Packers GM Ted Thompson: Drafting Richard Rodgers Not Connected to Jermichael Finley

While Jermichael Finley’s NFL future is currently unclear, there is one aspect of his drama that I consider a safe bet; the Green Bay Packers do not want to let him go. Finley, who suffered a severe, possibly career-ending spine/neck injury in last season’s Week 7 win over the Cleveland Browns, caught 223 passes for 2,785 yards during his six seasons with the team, making him...

Exclusive Interview: Jordan McCray, OG, Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers signed Central Florida offensive guard Jordan McCray immediately after the NFL Draft concluded, and it appears that they are excited about the potential future with him. Green Bay has been needing help on the offensive line, and McCray guarded one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL Draft and kept him upright. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing in at...

Sorry, ladies. Aaron Rodgers is off the market. The Green Bay Packers quarterback has recently begun dating actress Olivia Munn, sources told US Weekly. The two were spotted together backstage at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas last month and again at a Malibu restaurant on Saturday, where they reportedly “behaved like quite the couple.” Munn, best known for...

Two Packers named early in NFL's Top 100 players countdown

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Well, we know there are at least two Green Bay Packers players who rank among the NFL's top 100. In the NFL's annual countdown of the best 100 players, running back Eddie Lacy and wide receiver Jordy Nelson have made the list. Lacy, the Offensive Rookie of the Year, was named No. 90 after a season in which he recorded 1,178 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns...

McCarthy: Write it in big letters - Packers 'D' will be better

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Mike McCarthy doesn't make major declarations often. But the last time the Green Bay Packers' coach made a bold statement, he turned out to be right, so perhaps everyone should take note. A year ago, it was the Packers' running game in question. Having ranked 20th, 27th and 24th in the NFL in rushing yards over the previous three seasons, McCarthy vowed...

Packers give former Oregon star TE Colt Lyerla a try out

The Green Bay Packers gave former Oregon star tight end Colt Lyerla a try out on Friday during their rookie minicamp. Dismissed from the Oregon football team and later charged with possession of cocaine, Lyerla has been trying to get NFL teams to believe he deserves a chance to play professional football. He’s getting that chance in Green Bay, taking part in the rookie orientation...

Packers’ draft looks good on paper, can it translate to the field?

The most talked about need for the Green Bay Packers was the safety position, which the Packer addressed in the first round by selecting Alabama’s Ha’Sean “Ha Ha” Clinton-Dix. Going into the draft most analysts had Clinton-Dix as the top safety in the draft. With the importance put on safeties, I wasn’t expecting him to be there at 21, unless someone was going to take Louisville’s...

Packers: Fantasy Value for the Rookies

The Packers have one of the best “core 4” in all of football. With Aaron Rodgers, arguably one of the best, if not the best quarterback in the league running the show. Running back, Eddie Lacy is fresh of his Rookie of the Year award and will look to provide even more of an impact in year two. At wide receiver they have one of the top duos in Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. Throw...

Troubled Lyerla gets tryout with Packers

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Colt Lyerla's resume entering the NFL Draft included an arrest for cocaine possession, jail time, highly questionable social media posts and a junior season that ended within the first month when he mutually parted with the University of Oregon after first being suspended. Lyerla can now add "member of the Green Bay Packers" to that otherwise regrettable...

2014 Fantasy Football Team Preview: Green Bay Packers

Photo by Dilip Vishwanat/Getty Images The Packers are coming off a playoff season in which they mightily struggled on both sides of the ball. Health was the issue on the offensive side of the ball, while talent was more of an issue than anything on the defensive side. They”re back at it this season with Aaron Rodgers coming off that broken collarbone. They added some key defensive...

Mike McCarthy says the defense will get better and tells reporters to write it in big letters

Last year, Mike McCarthy took the unusual step of making an offseason guarantee. After the Packers had ranked near the bottom in the league in rushing yards per game (24th), McCarthy made a bold prediction and also turned into an impromptu editor for all reporters gathered: "We'll be better (as a running team), I can promise you that," McCarthy said June...
