Joe Adams went from the Panthers' starting kick and punt returner to inactive.
That's what two fumbles will do.
Adams, the fourth-round pick from Arkansas, was benched after mishandling a punt and fumbling the second-half kickoff in a 36-7 loss to the Giants on Sept. 20.
Kealoha Pilares will return kicks Sunday against the Falcons. Captain Munnerlyn is expected to handle the punt returns.

Cam Newton continues to alienate himself from his team
Cam Newton needs to get it together fast or his story has the potential to mirror that of Vince Young’s or Ryan Leaf’s.
Newton played a great game yesterday against the Atlanta Falcons yet he also let his ego and his antics set him up to fail.

Panthers pass rush anemic in 2012 again
The Carolina Panthers pass rush is anemic in 2012 and there is not much the Panthers can do about it. The Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott was brought into Carolina as a Jim Johnson disciple to bring pass rush schemes that could bolster the defense of the Panthers. However 2011 came and the Panthers finished 25th in total sacks with only 31 and it is understandable...
Newton shoulders burden of Panthers' loss
ATLANTA -- Cam Newton's grey suit, checkered dress shirt and purple sweater were the final articles of clothing hanging in the Carolina Panthers' locker room Sunday evening.
They hung in perfect unison above the second-year quarterback's head, which was covered with a dark blue towel for 25 minutes following his team's 30-28 last-second loss to the Atlanta Falcons...
Panthers' Rivera not second guessing his decisions
While Panthers coach Ron Rivera says he isn't second-guessing his decision making in Sunday's heartbreaking 30-28 loss to the Falcons, he is considering a change at free safety.
Haruki Nakamura had a nightmarish day for the Panthers. He had a hand in allowing all three Atlanta touchdowns, and the 59-yard reception by Roddy White when the Falcons were backed up at their 1...
CAM NEWTON Fails In The Ball Security Department
Written By, Clifford Santa Monica
Now everybody (including me) is going to jump all over Newton once again for his failings in the ball security department—this time for coughing up the football after he (would have) gained a critical, game winning first down on a designed run. He didn’t wrap the ball up while he was fighting for extra yardage, coughed it up, and his team ultimately...
Cam Newton Bounces Back vs. Falcons
Carolina QB Cam Newton played well Sunday in a loss to the Falcons, completing 15 of 24 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns. He also carried the ball nine times for 86 yards on the ground.Fantasy Spin:Newton shook off a poor outing in Week 3 versus New York by limiting his turnovers and looking for his big tight end Greg Olsen (six catches, 89 yards) early and often. Next week...
Carolina Panthers: Where Do They Go From Here?
After a last minute field goal from Matt Bryant put the Falcons ahead 30-28 with seconds to spare, the Panthers scrambled to make one more miracle play. Unfortunately for them, the folly of laterals lasted just a few seconds before the ball went out of bounds and time expired, dropping the Panthers to 1-3 on the season.Last year the Panthers finished with a 6-10 record, but the team...

Ron Rivera Mulling Change At After Panthers FS Haruki Nakamura's Bad Day
Panthers coach Ron Rivera said backup safety Sherrod Martin will get more practice reps this week, and left open the possibility that Martin might replace starter Haruki Nakamura following Nakamura's nightmare day Sunday in a 30-28 loss to Atlanta.
Nakamura had four major blown assignments three on touchdown plays and another that led to Matt Bryant's game-winning field...
Panthers LB Jon Beason Not Among Week 4's Inactives
Panthers middle linebacker Jon Beason, who was listed as questionable with knee and shoulder injuries, will be active for Sundays game with the Atlanta Falcons.
The biggest item of note on Carolinas list of inactives is that rookie receiver/return man Joe Adams will not play. Adams muffed a punt and fumbled on a kickoff return last week. Kealoha Pilares is expected to handle...

Falcons pounce with FG after Panthers punt backfires
ATLANTA -- Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera wasn't confident that Cam Newton could pick up one yard. The Atlanta Falcons took advantage of Rivera's decision and put together a last-minute scoring drive that started on their own 1-yard line and ended with Matt Bryant's winning 40-yard field goal with five seconds to play in a 30-28 win over Carolina, Sunday at the Georgia...
Week 4 NFL Preview: Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons
Right now, Matt Ryan is head and shoulders above the rest of the NFL in the MVP race. Granted, they’ve only played three games but it seems like he has refocused and started utilizing all of his weapons surrounding him on offense. Cam Newton, on the other hand, has struggled mightily thus far in 2012. With his Panthers off to a 1-2 start and coming off of an embarassing loss at...
Falcons are 4-0 After Shocking Panthers With Last Minute Drive
Despite being 1-2 and coming off of a lackluster performance, the Carolina Panthers came to the Georgia Dome on Sunday afternoon ready to play some football. The Falcons found themselves backed up on their one yard-line and down two points with 59 seconds left and no timeouts. Only an elite quarterback would be able to navigate his team out of a hole like this.
Ryan launched a bomb...
