Following the Carolina Panthers’ 30-20 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Carolina defensive end Greg Hardy had some unfriendly words for the Falcons players when telling them to get off the field. Hardy made the comments as a direct response to Matt Ryan, who the Panthers say was disrespectful to them after the two teams met earlier this season. As you can see in this video, Atlanta kicker Matt Bryant was one player who fired back at Hardy and reminded him that the Falcons will still be playing in January. Hardy says he wasn’t fazed by Bryant’s response and didn’t even know who he was. “I told him politely to remove himself from our facility because it was time to go, and he invited me to come watch him in January,” Hardy explained according to the Charlotte Observer. “It was a nice conversation. “I really didn’t know who he was. He was so small and weird-shaped, I was trying to figure out what he did. I found out when I looked online that he was a kicker. I was a little shocked.” Low blow! Kudos to the Panthers for taking care of business against a far superior team, but the revenge they captured was minimal. The bottom line is it was a much bigger game for Carolina than Atlanta. Hardy can make fun of Bryant’s physical appearance all he wants and his team may have gotten the last laugh on Sunday, but the Falcons will have no problem shaking it off knowing they’re headed to the postseason.
