The Panthers announced they've traded running back Mike Goodson to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for offensive tackle Bruce Campbell. Goodson, who ran for 501 yards and three touchdowns in three seasons with Carolina, became expendable after the team signed free agent running back Mike Tolbert earlier this offseason. The 6-foot-6, 315-pound Campbell played in four games for the Raiders in 2011. As a rookie in 2010, he played in 10 games, primarily on special teams, after being selected by Oakland in the fourth round. Panthers GM Marty Hurney says Campbell ''is a very young, talented offensive lineman who has all the physical qualities to play in this league.'' Campbell played guard his first two seasons with the Raiders but the Panthers will look at moving him to tackle.

Oakland Raiders Trade for RB Mike Goodson, Add Much Needed Running Back Depth

The Oakland Raiders announced they have traded OG/OT Bruce Campbell to the Carolina Panthers for; Running Back Mike Goodson. I am personally a big fan of this trade. It gives us some much-needed Running Back depth. Second-year RB Taiwan Jones has potential, but he is young, and frankly… his running-style is not compatible with the [...]

Ron Rivera calls Jeremy Shockey a ‘tremendous person,’ says he’s not snitch type

There are plenty of people across the NFL who do not care for Jeremy Shockey. He has a reputation for being a loud mouth and has been accused of being a lousy teammate. That doesn’t mean it was right when Warren Sapp accused him of being the person who ratted out the Saints for running a bounty program. Sapp had nothing to support his claim, which is why the NFL Network wound up...

Cap Situation Keeping Cats Quiet

A week before free agency opened, the Carolina Panthers were among the teams over the NFL's salary cap, forcing a few cuts and restructures. That's limited much of what they were going to do in the market -- though it wasn't going to be much anyway.
