Jonathan Stewart sprained his ankle in the Panthers’ final preseason game over a week ago, but even though it wasn’t a high ankle sprain, Stewart still did not practice all week and will be a game time decision for their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This is especially frustrating for Stewart’s fantasy owners, because it’s a 4 o’clock start instead of a 1 o’clock start, meaning your options will be much more limited if you put him in your lineup and he’s ruled out before the game. Stewart normally plays through minor injuries (as injury prone as his reputation would make him seem, he’s missed just 2 of 64 career games) and that’s why he’s a game time decision without practicing. However, the Panthers have plenty of other running backs and can definitely get away with starting DeAngelo Williams, with “fullback” Mike Tolbert as his primary backup this week, so they may shut Stewart down and try to preserve him for the rest of the season.

Stewart won't play for Panthers

Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart will be sidelined against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. "Sorry panther fans but it Looks like I'll be missing the game opener this year due to my recent ankle sprain! I'll be helping my team today by cheering them on! lets go panthers!! #panther-nation," Stewart wrote on his Twitter feed. Stewart, who suffered...

Jonathan Stewart questionable for week one

Jonathan Stewart (ankle) has been out of practice all week long and is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game in Tampa Bay. He has been banged up before, but in 4 seasons, he has only missed 2 games. The Panthers are reportedly preparing for life without Stewart, which would move DeAngelo Williams into a solid RB2, or even low RB1, roll this week in all formats. The...

Juan Eye On: Brandon LaFell

Cam and I are going to take the next step Juan… There are several players that I will watching this Sunday to see if they will live up the expectations of Juan and many others.
