The first preseason game of 2011 is upon us. Excitement is in the air, brats are marinating the beer, all is right with the world. While the entire world will be focusing mainly on Cam Newton, he is not the only interesting aspect of the game by far. Here are 5 things I will be watching out for during the game, in no particular order: - With Gettis now on IR, competition is wide open for  number 2 receiver. Brandon LaFell has dropped many passes in camp. Armanti Edwards is the home favorite but unproven. Legedu Naanee is the veteran outsider. This makes an interesting cast of characters jockeying for the position. - Will Jimmy throw down field? We all know Jimmy can complete 5 yard passes. Last season fans witnessed this over and over again, yet the Panthers still lost. For Jimmy to have a chance at remaining the starter this season, he needs to complete passes down field.
