The Panthers can't seem to dodge the injury bug. Head coach Ron Rivera delivered the bad news on Wednesday.
Inside linebacker Jon Beason was placed on the injured reserve with an ailing left knee, which he will have surgery on next week, marking the third Panthers star to be added to the dreaded list in as many weeks. Cornerback Chris Gamble and center Ryan Kalil have been sidelined with season-ending injuries.
Although Beason has been inactive for the last two weeks, the team was hopeful that he would make a return to the field. He wasn't so fortunate.
"I've been pretty banged up, it's been week to week," Beason told News 14 Carolina. "And we decided to take another look at the knee, see what's going on. (I) got the MRI yesterday and it didn't look good, so I'm probably going to have to have surgery and if I do that, I'm going to end up on the IR.
"So that's probably what we're going to do, moving forward, probably early next week. But, it's part of the business, man. You can't...
