The Carolina Panthers have announced the release of CB Chris Gamble.
This move will finally get them $3.7 million under salary cap.
Gamble, 29, signed a six-year deal worth $53.5 million back in 2009. He had a base salary of $7.9 million and the move frees up just as much in cap space, according to Brian McIntyre.
He joins a fairly crowded cornerback market, which means there’s a chance he could be a decent value for some team in need of some extra depth in their secondary.
A speculative option to watch could be the Denver Bronocs as they’re in need of help at corner and Gamble spent time under head coach John Fox while he was in Carolina.
