According to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network, the Carolina Panthers have signed running back Mike Tolbert to a four-year deal.
With the addition of Tolbert, I wouldn’t be surprised if Jonathan Stewart ends up being traded, since he’s going into the final year of his current contract.
Tolbert carried the ball 121 times for 490 yards and 8 touchdowns in 2011.

The Panthers announced the signing of Mike Tolbert Monday, sparking speculation that they may trade one of their running backs. Carolina already has DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, and Mike Goodson under contract at the position. Stewart will be a free agent after the season. Williams signed a five-year contract last July and would likely have less value on the trade market...
The Carolina Panthers and running back Mike Tolbert came to terms on a four-year deal, a league source told NFL.com's Jason La Canfora on Monday.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Tolbert is coming off two productive seasons with the San Diego Chargers.
After he had 735 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2010, the 26-year-old Tolbert followed that up with eight touchdowns rushing...
Free agent RB Mike Tolbert has agreed to a four-year deal with the Carolina Panthers according to Jason LaCanfora on Twitter. The move to bring in Mike Tolbert for an interview has fueled speculation that the Carolina Panthers are going to place RB Jonathan Stewart on the trading block.Tolbert had been linked to the Kansas City Chiefs and even the Pittsburgh Steelers...
According to Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer, free agent running back Mike Tolbert is scheduled to visit with the Carolina Panthers.
If the Panthers end up signing Tolbert, it could mean the Panthers will likely place either DeAngelo Williams or Jonathan Stewart on the trade block. Person points out that it would likely be Stewart on the way out, since he’s going...
Running back Mike Tolbert has agreed to a four-year deal with the Carolina Panthers, according to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network.
Tolbert will now enter a crowded backfield in Carolina and will fight for carries with DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, plus quarterback Cam Newton. But perhaps Tolbert will work as the goal-line back, and the Panthers could opt to...
According to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network, the San Francisco 49ers contract proposal of $24 million over three years is still on the table if quarterback Alex Smith wants to accept it.
People around the league believe the only reason Smith is talking to the Dolphins right now, is to gain some leverage. But let’s face it, $8 million a year for a guy like Smith is a good...
According to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network, free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress has been in contact with multiple NFL teams, including the Philadelphia Eagles.
Burress has made it clear that he’d love to play for the Eagles next season, but so far he remains a free man as he tests the free agent market.
Mike Tolbert is a now a member of the Carolina Panthers, and that makes little sense from the outside.
Well if Mike Tolbert is in who is out?
The Panthers are going to deal Jonathan Stewart or DeAngelo Williams at this point… right? Well, except for the little fact that they don’t want to trade Jonathan Stewart, at least from every report that is out there.
As Jason La Canfora...
According to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network, the Tennessee Titans have scheduled a visit with free agent cornerback Tracy Porter.
Another team that might also be interested in Porter, is the St. Louis Rams.
It’s quite surprising that Porter is still available on the open market after a strong start to his career with the Saints.
According to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network, the Seattle Seahawks signed defensive end Jason Jones to a one-year deal.
The 25 year-old Jones has played the previous four seasons with the Titans and recorded 27 tackles and 3 sacks in 2011.
According to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network, the Denver Broncos have scheduled visits with former Colts center Jeff Saturday, as well as former Colts/Broncos wide receiver Brandon Stokley.
LaCanfora also mentioned that tight ends Dallas Clark and/or Jacob Tamme could end up in Denver as well.
The Broncos are being smart by trying to bring in as many guys as possible that Manning...
