Carolina Panthers tight end Jeremy Shockey missed practice on Wednesday with a concussion, thus putting his availability for Sunday's game against his former team - the New Orleans Saints - in jeopardy.
"We’re just going through the concussion protocol,” Carolina coach Ron Rivera said of Shockey, who was hit in the head on a field goal attempt during last weekend's loss to the Chicago Bears.
“We’re getting to the point, and I hate to say it, but we’ve had one (concussion) a week. We’re concerned obviously, but we won’t know more until Thursday morning."
Shockey has 11 receptions for 178 yards in four games with the Panthers (1-3).
