Carolina Panthers tight end Jeremy Shockey admitted that he made the wrong decision by not shaking the hands of members of the New Orleans Saints after Sunday's 30-27 loss.
Shockey, who was released by the Saints in February, acknowledged his mistake on Twitter.
"I hold myself accountable," the 10-year veteran wrote. "It was a classless move by me. No one takes losses worse than me."
New Orleans coach Sean Payton didn't hold it against Shockey, who he considers a friend.
"He's very emotional and loves playing," Payton said.
