TEAMS: Carolina Panthers, Washington Redskins
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Brandon LaFell is listed as doubtful to play this Sunday against the Washington Redskins because of a concussion, according to the team's website. LaFell was unable to practice Friday. "It doesn't (look good for LaFell)," Panthers coach Ron Rivera told Panthers.com on Friday. "We'll see how he is tomorrow, and then we'll go from there." Louis Murphy, Kealoha Pilares and Armanti Edwards are the candidates to replace LaFell as the No. 2 wideout on the depth chart if he cannot play. David Gettis (hamstring) and rookie Joe Adams may also move up. Gettis could be taken off the physically-unable-to-perform list.

Denver at Cincinnati - The Boncos and Peyton Manning have things rolling now on both sides of the ball. Don't forget that the Broncos played great defense and special teams last season and they were able to run the ball. You add Peyton Manning to that mix and it's no surprise they are rolling right now. I'm not ready to say they're headed to the Super Bowl...
QUICK SPIN: LaFell has a Concussion…
Brandon LaFell took a big hit against the Steelers and, according to Panther's head coach Ron Rivera, passed a concussion test on the sideline. If indeed he did pass the sideline testing then it was insufficient because he has been sidelined now, probably for Week 9 at least, with a concussion. If testing wasn't administered this could become a real issue for the Panthers.

Panthers WR Brandon LaFell Unlikely To Play This Sunday
Panthers wide receiver Brandon LaFell is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins due to a concussion he sustained in the team's last outing.
LaFell suffered the injury during the third quarter of last week's 23-22 loss at Chicago. Though the third-year pro initially passed the NFL's concussion protocol and was allowed to return to the contest...

Carolina Panthers receiver Brandon LaFell is inactive against the Washington Redskins, a week after taking a shot to the head.
LaFell is third on the Panthers with 20 catches for 367 yards and a team-leading two touchdown receptions. Chicago Bears safety Chris Conte was fined $21,000 by the NFL for his hit on LaFell.

RG3 tells media don’t compare me to Cam Newton, compare me to Aaron Rodgers
RG3 has been a very good quarterback in his early career, but is it beginning to get to his head? Today he made a comment and I don’t know if I was suppose to take it as a shot at Cam Newton or it just came out bad. Griffin said: “I’d rather be compared to an Aaron Rodgers or a guy like that,” Griffin said Wednesday, “someone who has won Super Bowls.”
To me that sounds...
Ron Rivera Says Panthers Weren't Going To Trade WR Steve Smith, RB DeAngelo Williams
Panthers coach Ron Rivera said the Panthers had no serious conversations with any team about trading running back DeAngelo Williams or wide receiver Steve Smith before Thursday's trade deadline. Rivera said he actually told the players amid media reports of trade possibilities that the public speculation was off-base and that they would remain with the team.
"I told them...
Carolina Panthers at Washington Redskins: Week 9 NFL Pick
Carolina Panthers (1-6) at Washington Redskins (3-5)
This is one of two trap lines I identified this week. According to this line, the Redskins and the Panthers are comparable teams with Washington as 3 point home favorites. However, Washington is at 3-5 and the Panthers are at 1-6. Because of that, the action is on Washington and yet, the line is still falling as it opened at -4...

Bears safety Chris Conte was fined $21,000 for contact to the head of a defenseless receiver during Sunday's 23-22 win over the Panthers.

Chicago Bears safety Chris Conte was fined $21,000 for making contact to Carolina Panthers receiver Brandon LaFell's head during their game last Sunday.
