The Bye Week break is behind us now. I don't expect a miracle comeback by Mike Patterson or Jason Peters. I don't know how the heck Terrell Suggs pulled off a 6-month rehab from Achilles tendon reconstruction surgery...but I don't think anything like that is going to happen here. The Eagles are 3-3...with more questions than answers. This is gut-check time for the fans as much as the players and coaches. How many of us already have experienced friends or family members jumping off the bandwagon? My most recent memory of a winning Eagles team whose season started out like this was the 2008 edition. We even had a quarterback controversy that year, too... But somehow, despite the naysayers, and rallying from a 5-6-1 record, the Birds pulled it together with a late run. They came within an inch of representing the NFC in the Super Bowl. That's the kind of spirit I'm looking for right now at the 3-3 mark... Look, if you break it down logistically, the Eagles must appraise their remaining schedule and set a goal of 7-3 the rest of the way.  That would be the season in a nutshell. Going 5-0 against their own divisional opponents the rest of the way would probably seal the deal to make the playoffs as well--- but that is asking a lot. As I write this, the Giants have beaten the Redskins with a late drive, and Dallas has outlasted Carolina. So none of our divisional rivals are going to roll over and play dead. This thing is going down to the wire. But as we come back to practice and film study, and the coaching staff tries to tweak some kind of winning advantage into the sessions and meetings, it still boils down to this:  finding a way to win 7 out of the next 10 games... just "find a way", even if it's not predicated on the stats or the matchups. Here's the remainder of the 2012 schedule... Can you find 7 wins in this lineup? Week 08 Atlanta Falcons Sun, 10/28 at 1:00 PM EDT Home: Lincoln Financial Field   Week 09 @ New Orleans Saints Mon, 11/05 at 8:30 PM EST Away: Mercedes-Benz Superdome   Week 10 Dallas Cowboys Sun, 11/11 at 4:25 PM EST Home: Lincoln Financial Field     Week 11 @ Washington Redskins Sun, 11/18 at 1:00 PM EST Away: FedExField     Week 12 Carolina Panthers Mon, 11/26 at 8:30 PM EST Home: Lincoln Financial Field       Week 13 @ Dallas Cowboys Sun, 12/02 at 8:20 PM EST Away: Cowboys Stadium       Week 14 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sun, 12/09 at 1:00 PM EST Away: Raymond James Stadium     Week 15 Cincinnati Bengals Thu, 12/13 at 8:20 PM EST Home: Lincoln Financial Field       Week 16 Washington Redskins Sun, 12/23 at 1:00 PM EST Home: Lincoln Financial Field       Week 17 @ New York Giants Sun, 12/30 at 1:00 PM EST Away: MetLife Stadium     Give me 7 reasons why the Eagles could and should finish at 10-6 based on their soon-to-be realized potential and the list of opponents above. I need a positive approach to the next chapter in our 2012 season. These opposing teams have their own share of problems, too. I don't see any team on this schedule that is athletically dominant to the Eagles in every phase of the game. Maybe I'm drunk from the green kool-aid, but I see a 7-3 run as entirely within the realm of achievement. I'm seeing and feeling 10-6... our ex-patriate Triple D forecasts 8-8 at best...   DDD is missing out on a beautiful buzz.
