According to Mike Garafolo of USA Today, Jim Harbaugh isn’t wasting anytime looking to add talent to his roster.
The already deep 49ers have expressed interest in former Falcons pass rushing demon John Abraham, who had 33 tackles, 6 forced fumbles, and 10 sacks in 2012. Garafolo writes:
‘Abraham is scheduled to visit the 49ers after he leaves a stop with the Seahawks today.
Unlike the free agents who can only be legally tampered with starting at midnight, Abraham can go visit teams since he was released by the Falcons.
The 34-year-old still has the ability to rush the passer, but joining the 49ers would require some adjusting to a 3-4 defense.’

The first words that come to mind when I think about the proposed Alex Smith trade are highway robbery. Luckily for the 49ers, this is a, “what have you done for me lately” league. Because of that, the fact that Alex Smith was one of the worst quarterbacks in the league for the first five years...
Jordan Raanan of NJ.com reports that multiple league sources have informed him that the Eagles are expected to pursue free agent FS Dashon Goldson.
Philadelphia has an obvious need at safety and the addition of 49ers former VP of player personnel Tom Gamble further suggests that Goldson should draw strong consideration from the Eagles.
Goldson, 28, will be an unrestricted free...

What a difference a year makes. Last year, some were clamoring for David Akers to get MVP consideration.Akers signed a three-year, $9 million contract with the 49ers, and was the lone bright spot in Jim Harbaugh’s debut as a professional head coach when he kicked a 59 yard field goal against the Saints in the 49ers’ first preseason game. The recent media frenzy over coveted cornerback Darrelle Revis being traded to the San Francisco 49ers is more about the public obsession with super-star dream teams, than reality.
