Waiting For Next Year:
Pat Shurmur spoke today about Josh Gordon-
“I think he’s as far along as you can be as a rookie. I think he’s made tremendous strides from the first day of training camp until now so yeah I’m happy with the progress so far. We got a chance to see him make some plays in preseason games and now it’s important for him to go out and do that in a regular season game so each one of these things I’m talking about is a little hurdle and he’s done a good job of getting himself to this point.”
“He’s kind of following the same path that Greg did. Greg came in and in my opinion he had to run himself into shape much like Josh Gordon did. Then he went out and played a long season for a rookie and played a lot of games and fortunately found a way to stay healthy. I’m sure there are things they’re talking about behind the scenes. I’ve seen a time or two where they’ve interacted where I’m sure that’s helping Josh.”
He also updated Trent Richardson’s situation (before practice)-

1. Stop the Eagles pass rush
The Eagles have one of the quickest and best pass rushing defensive lines in all of football. The Browns must find a way to contain the Eagles rush that roughed up the Browns in Cleveland a couple weeks ago. Brandon Weeden must protect the ball better when pressure finds him and get rid of the ball quickly...
BEREAThere are several Browns players who will make their NFL debuts on Sunday , including top picks pick Trent Richardson, Mitchell Schwartz and Josh Gordon.
However, probably the biggest one will be the debut of quarterback Brandon Weeden, the 22nd overall pick from Oklahoma State.
Weeden knows this is not the same stage as when he made his professional debut as a pitcher in...
Good bye, you piece of **** Art Modell. It’s never a happy day when someone dies, but…oh, wait, yes it is a happy day. We lost a disgusting visage of hypocrisy and greed today, and for that, we should all celebrate. This is a man who through his own bumbling idiocy somehow claimed financial troubles [...]
Trent Richardson was a full participant in practice again Wednesday, and from accounts of practice open to the media, 1 didn’t have any trouble or lingering effects from practice Monday or his surgery.
Coach Pat Shurmur didn’t expand much on Richardson’s condition-
“(On how Trent Richardson looked in practice on Monday)- “Trent practiced well.” (On if Richardson had...
The reborn-in-'99 Browns are now on their fifth full-time head coach. Second-year Browns coach Pat Shurmur is one of four former Reid assistants who are now NFL head coaches.
The news on Thursday of Art Modell’s death landed like a thud for those who root for the Cleveland Browns.
Enough time has passed where there is no chance there will be celebration in the streets. Had this happened 13 or 14 years ago, it would’ve looked like Washington, D.C. in the hours after Osama Bin Laden’s death on Euclid Avenue. That doesn’t mean Cleveland fans have...

Browns' head coach and offensive coordinator are excited about rookie QB Brandon Weeden's demeanor and skill set as he is set to begin his NFL career Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Art Modell died early this morning in Baltimore. This will elicit a wide range of emotions across the sports universe, but most particularly in the city that brought him his wealth and power, Cleveland, Ohio. There will likely never be a bigger villain in the city of Cleveland than Arthur Modell, despite how hard some will try. Unfortunately, some fans will react with unseemly...
