The Patriot Act:
The New England Patriots have not started the season like many anticipated. Tom Brady isn't lighting up the scoreboard, Randy Moss isn't a touchdown machine (he has 1 so far), and Wes Welker hasn't carved up defenses underneath. The offense has been slow out of the gate, but has begun to pick up some steam after scoring more red zone touchdowns instead of field goals this past weekend against Baltimore. The running game has become a more important piece to the offense, and was fairly successful against a Ravens team that has been the best versus the run since last season. The defense has been the most pleasant surprise so far this season. Many expected them to struggle, especially after the loss of Richard Seymour and a totally revamped secondary. However, the defense has shut down Tony Gonzalez and Terrell Owens while slowing a high-scoring Ravens' offense. It hasn't been pretty.
