Found May 04, 2013 on Sox and Dawgs:
Earlier this week the New England Patriots released a half dozen players.  Among those getting cut were WR Jeremy Ebert who was a late round draft pick in 2012.  The Patriots also released RB Tony Fiametta who signed before 2012 as a free agent out of Dallas and never saw the field due to family issues and G Brian Waters who sat out last season debating retirement after having played with the team in 2011 when they went to the Super Bowl. Among the others cut were TE Brad Herman, DL Tracy Robinson and DB Malcolm Williams. Only Williams contributed in 2011 playing in two games and making two special teams tackles. Aaron Dobson, Josh Boyce, T.J. Moe Are Prepared for Patriots’ Tough Offensive Playbook

FOXBORO, Mass. — For years now, rookie and veteran wide receivers have come to Foxboro and had difficulty picking up the Patriots’ playbook. Fortunately, rookies Aaron Dobson, Josh Boyce and T.J. Moe have heard how tough the playbook can be to learn, and they’re prepared. Maybe it’s just naivety from the new Patriots rookies’ part, or maybe they can break the curse of the...

Terrell Owens Says Signing With Patriots Would Be ‘No Brainer,’ Thinks Sky Would Be Limit With Tom Brady

Terrell Owens spent some time out in Los Angeles, Calif., working out with Tom Brady earlier this offseason, and it just so happens he would be interested in playing for the Patriots. Owens caught some passes from Brady at USC in early April and, like almost any intelligent NFL player, would want to play with Brady and the Patriots full time, according to BlindsideFootball.com...

Gronk 'looks great' in offseason program

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is still a few weeks away from knowing if he will need a fourth surgery on his left forearm, ESPN.com reported, citing sources. Doctors are waiting to see if an infection

Tom Brady Reminds The World That He Is Totally Just a Normal Guy Like You And Me

It seems that Tom Brady may have had some luck go his way when Orb won the Kentucky Derby. Check out the video of the Patriots quarterback squealing with joy following Orb taking the checkered flag (so to speak). The video would suggest that other than the fact that Tom is married to a super model, makes millions of dollars every month, is ridiculously blessed with good jeans,...

Chris and Nick McDonald team up on Patriots after being separated as teenagers

Chris McDonald and Nick McDonald have a chance to join an elite group of people this upcoming NFL season. Both are currently on the New England Patriots roster, with Nick having joined the team in 2011 and Chris signing as an undrafted free agent following the NFL Draft last month. Both are offensive lineman. As you may have guessed, they are also brothers. However, the McDonald...

Rob Gronkowski reportedly looks “great” during the Patriots’ offseason program

According to Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com, a source has told him that tight end Rob Gronkowski has looked great during the Patriots’ offseason program as he continues to wait and see if he’ll need a fourth surgery on his forearm. Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is still a couple of weeks away from having a definitive answer as to whether he will need a fourth surgery on his...

Bowtied & dressed like a weasel -- Tom Brady celebrated Orb's Kentucky Derby win

Tom Brady came to Orb's box after the Kentucky Derby to congratulate the team on the horse's victory. And by congratulate we mean high fiving, hugging, and screaming. Orb's connections... Full story at Bob's Blitz ~ http://www.bobsblitz.com

Belichick: Head start gives CFL'ers Armstead, Vega advantage

The New England Patriots announced their busload of rookie free agent signings Friday, adding 19 to the roster in preparation for offseason workouts. And while many of those 19 have a legitimate shot at being on the roster come September, it's two rookies from north of the border that coach Bill Belichick thinks have the upper hand at the moment.Belichick spoke with the media...

Bill Belichick praises LeGarrette Blount trade

The New England Patriots are reshaping themselves into a new look unit. In the midst of the departure of wide receiver Wes Welker and the uncertain immediate futures of tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez, the Patriots are restocking their arsenal with wideout Danny Amendola and the recent trade for former Tampa Bay running back LeGarrette Blount. Please click here...

Tom Brady is absolutely obsessed with football, in case you didn't know

ESPN's Seth Wickersham recently wrote a must-read article on Tom Brady last week. I posted on one of my favorite quotes from the article about Kurt Warner. For the most part, a lot of the article contained stuff about Brady that you'd already know if you had been listening to his often times very candid weekly WEEI interviews the past few years. Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston...

Jones, Jenkins enter Patriots' annual wideout battle on bubble

When the New England Patriots brought in receivers Donald Jones and Michael Jenkins earlier this offseason, their final roster spots were far from guaranteed. As were their contracts. And after New England drafted two wideouts in the first four rounds of the 2013 NFL Draft, something will certainly have to give. As ESPN Boston notes, Jones and Jenkins are two of the dozen Patriots...

Rookie Expectations: Aaron Dobson

I am going to be completely honest, I had only heard of this guy a couple times before the Patriots drafted him. However, once WR Aaron Dobson was selected by the Pats with the 59th overall selection in the second round, I was pumped. This pick seemed to come out of nowhere, but needless to say we should all be excited. With the excitement comes some expectations. It is obviously...

Blount takes pay cut, Moe is like Welker, Boyce misses time

Here are some of the key leftover storylines, from my view point, that have come out of the past couple days so far. 1. LeGarrette Blount was once a starter for Tampa Bay, and a very good looking one at times. However, a decline in performance and a breakout rookie year from Doug Martin, and now he finds himself close to the bottom of the running back depth chart of a team over...

Bill O’Brien Played Big Role in Undrafted Free Agents Stephon Morris, Matt Stankiewitch Joining Patriots

FOXBORO, Mass. — Bill O’Brien has a long history with the New England Patriots, and he’s keeping it going from his new post down in Happy Valley, Penn. O’Brien implemented a lot of the Patriots methods into the system at Penn State when he took the head coaching job there last offseason. Now, he’s directing some of his players to Bill Belichick and the Patriots to continue...
