One of the feel-good stories of the Patriots offseason was defensive back Sterling Moore, who rose from practice squad reject to playoff hero. His deflection of the pass intended for Ravens WR Lee Evans (pictured) sent the Pats into Super Bowl XLVI.
Moore was a guest last night on ESPN’s NFL32, and it’s clear he still hadn’t gotten over the defeat to the Giants. How do we know? Moore was asked if it’s any easier a week later, and he said, “No. Not easier at all.”
OK, then. Moore also noted how the secondary mostly did their job, not giving up big plays. The only exception was the 38-yarder to Mario Manningham that helped win it for the Giants.
“Unfortunately, we gave up that one and that one cost us,” Moore said. “I still look back at the play. I don’t know how he got two feet in.”
