TEAMS: New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets
The New England Patriots will be without Rob Gronkowski, Chandler Jones and Logan Mankins when they travel to face the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on Thursday, The Star-Ledger's Conor Orr reported.
Gronkowski being out was no surprise after he underwent surgery this week on a broken forearm.
Jones hurt an ankle in a win over the Indianapolis Colts and did not return. He has 34 tackles, a team-high six sacks and three forced fumbles as a rookie defensive end.
Mankins missed last week's game with ankle and calf injuries and this will make four of the past five games he's will miss. Source: NFL.com Attached Thumbnails

Is the Chandler Jones injury a blessing in disguise?
&#a0;I agree with Bedard here. Chandler Jones has been the only player on this team that can generate a pass rush. We all see Ninkovich's strip sacks, etc. Those are great, but what we don't see is the inconsistency there. Chandler Jones is not going to play in this game, so Belichick will find out what he has behind him. This might (hopefully) force Belichick to blitz...
Rob Gronkowski’s Injury Should Take Four to Eight Weeks to Heal, According to Dr. Philip Blazar (Video)
There was a period of panic between hearing that Rob Gronkowski had broken his forearm, and then finding out how long the Patriots would be without their star tight end.
It turns out the diagnosis isn’t so bad. NESN Daily caught up with Dr. Philip Blazar, a Brigham and Women’s hand and upper extremity orthopedic surgeon to find out the severity of Gronk’s forearm injury.
Blazar...
Jermaine Cunningham Had Stellar Game Rushing Passer, But Struggled Replacing Chandler Jones’ Run Defense
It may not have flashed on your typical stat sheet, but Jermaine Cunningham was giving Andrew Luck fits in Sunday’s Colts-Patriots matchup.
The third-year defensive end had the tough task of replacing rookie Chandler Jones as an every-down player when Jones left the game with an ankle injury. Between playing Jones’ defensive end spot and Cunningham’s usual third down defensive...
The Patriots won't bother to fully practice this week
The Patriots didn't practice yesterday, and they just held a walkthrough today. Meaning, they will head into the game without actually having a full pads practice. The team will travel to New York tomorrow.Logan Mankins, Rob Gronkowski and Chandler Jones did not participate in today's walkthrough or yesterday's hypothetical practice. Don't expect any of them to play...
Patriots Injury Report: Aaron Hernandez, Rob Gronkowski, Wes Welker
The New England Patriots officially ruled tight end Rob
Gronkowski out for tonight’s game against the New York Jets, while several
players are listed as questionable to play, including tight end Aaron Hernandez
and wide receivers Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd, reports Mike Whitmer of the
Boston Globe.
While Welker and Lloyd were able to suit up and play last
weekend, Hernandez...
Watt continues to deliver in IDP
Rookie and emerging star defensive end Chandler Jones missed New England's Thanksgiving game against the Jets on Thursday with an ankle issue, and given the nature of sprains he should probably be considered questionable for Week 13. Dallas linebacker Bruce Carter suffered an elbow injury during Dallas' loss to the Redskins on Thursday, and his season might be over as a result...
Patriot’s Offense Will Survive Without Gronk
There is no doubt Rob Gronkowski’s broken forearm, which will keep him out four to six weeks, will hurt the Patriot’s offense, but the team will continue to produce without him. They have too many weapons not too. Yes, Gronk is a major part of the offense, but other players will step up and produce. Aaron Hernandez should be back from injury this week, and if Julian Edelman...
Week 12 fantasy football injuries
Rob Gronkowski
Gronkowski will miss an extended period after suffering a fractured forearm in New England's win over Indianapolis. The Pro Bowl tight end underwent surgery to fix the break Monday morning. The good news is bone tissue is able to repair itself back to its original integrity and the inserted hardware will insure the mending bone is properly aligned. Unfortunately...

Not sure the Patriots deserve mad love with the loss of Rob Gronkowski, but they’re still playing well. The confidence in the Texans took a huge hit by giving up 34 to the Jaguars this weekend, but I’m not going to look too deeply into it. They still won right?

New York Post covers upcoming Jets-Pats tilt
This is so stupid. First of all, what gives the New York Post even the slightest bit of confidence that the 4-6 Jets now have a cozy match up against the 7-3 New England Patriots. Yeah, Rob Gronkowski won't be playing but it's looking like Aaron Hernandez will. Tom Brady is still under center and the Patriots have Wes Welker and Stevan Ridley as their other two top weapons...
Meast and Least For Week 11
After Rob Gronkowski broke his forearm on Sunday, everyone had a good laugh at the Patriots in general and Bill Belichick in particular for being his usual dickish grumblelord self by running up the score late in a certain victory and having it backfire on him. This prompted Football Outsiders writer and Patriots fan Aaron Schatz to write a pedantic post for Deadspin in which he...
Report: Aaron Hernandez Will Play on Thursday After Recovering From Right Ankle Injury
The yin and yang of the Patriots’ season continues. While the team will be without Rob Gronkowski on Thursday, there’s good news surrounding New England’s other starting tight end.
Aaron Hernandez will return from his ailing right ankle injury in the Patriots’ Thanksgiving matchup against the Jets, according to Albert Breer from NFL.com. Hernandez first hurt his ankle in...
Rex Ryan Defends Bill Belichick’s Decision to Leave Rob Gronkowski In on Extra Point, Calls Criticism ‘Ridiculous’
Rex Ryan and Bill Belichick are supposed to be archenemies. They’re not supposed to exchange Christmas cards, compliment one another on their interesting clothing choices or even swap pleasantries, at least as far as Patriots and/or Jets fans are concerned.
But on Tuesday, Ryan broke that code. The Jets head coach actually backed up Belichick on his decision to play Rob Gronkowski...
NFL Picks, 2012 Season, Week 12
The New England Patriots scored a convincing win last weekend against Indianapolis, but it ended up being a costly one.
Star tight end Rob Gronkowski could miss a month or more with a broken arm suffered while blocking on an extra point late in the game.
Richard Hill, assistant editor for Pats Pulpit, acknowledges that Gronk is a tough loss to swallow, but adds that the team may...
