The Patriots have announced that both DT Brandon Deaderick (ankle) and CB Alfonzo Dennard (hamstring) are out for Sunday night’s game in Baltimore. The two were downgraded after appearing on Friday’s injury report as questionable. Both were limited in practice Thursday and Friday. Deaderick was used sparingly in the past two games to spell Vince Wilfork and Kyle Love on short yardage situations, and Ron Brace will likely step into that role. Dennard has yet to see the field this season, and the hamstring issues this early on can’t be good news for the rookie out of Nebraska’s hopes of contributing at all this season. As previously reported earlier, Aaron Hernandez and Justin Francis will also miss this one.

Tom Brady, Patriots Inability to Convert in Key Moments Far More Responsible for Loss Than Officials

With just seconds left on the clock and a field goal separating the Patriots and Ravens, Sunday night's showdown in Baltimore felt awfully familiar. The only difference this time was the result. About eight months to the day from the Patriots miracle 23-20 win over the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game, this time Baltimore's kicker was actually able to split the uprights...

Should Tom Brady stick up for Wes Welker?

The definition of a good teammate is someone who cheers, remains positive, takes responsibility and is a good example to the rest of the team. In the NFL, teammates depend on each for success and bond during failure. Tom Brady and Wes Welker have been teammates on the New England Patriots since 2007 when Welker was traded from the Miami Dolphins. Over the last five seasons, Welker...

Belichick grabs official (VIDEO), Brandon Spikes takes it to Twitter

Sigh. The Patriots are no different than anyone else. Head coach Bill Belichick is human after all, and finally showed some emotion after the Sunday night's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Unfortunately, The Hoodie was wrong in what he did, and most assuredly with face fines and/or a reprimand from the NFL. If you missed it, The Hooded One grabbed an official after the game...

Kellen Winslow will be active, Patriots thin at d-line

ESPNBoston.com:Newly acquired Patriots tight end Kellen Winslow will be active for tonight’s game against the Ravens, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Winslow has been with the team for just two practices, but coach Bill Belichick said Friday he wasn’t ruling out him contributing with tight end Aaron Hernandez out with an ankle injury. Vince Wilfork Says Defense Left Patriots 'Out to Dry' as Ravens Offense Took Over in Win

Through the first two games of the season and even the first quarter of Sunday night's loss to the Ravens, the Patriots' defense had new life. Gone was the floppy secondary that couldn't be trusted on deep throws. Suddenly arrived was a legitimate pass rush. Fully present was a complete unit that could shut down opponents on runs and passes while stopping key drives....

NFL Week 3: Patriots Offense Like Looking In Mirror Vs Ravens Offense On Sunday Night Football?

The New England Patriots became famous in NFL Draft circles for drafting multiple tight ends in the draft in various years. Drafting one in the first round never worked out as well, such as with Daniel Graham or Benjamin Watson, but once the Patriots learned that you could draft two or three in the second through seventh rounds instead of just one in the first, things started to...

NFL Week 2: Vanderjacked!

Week 2 is in the books and the most important player is again the kicker….good and bad! The Bad The Patriots and Tom Brady had a rough game but in the end New England was set up for victory. Down 2 and a 42 yd kick staring down reliable (career 84%) Stephen Gostkowski, the Patriots had surely done everything they needed too, at least we thought! The ball didn’t just miss left...

Vote: Which Ravens Player Should Be the Patriots' Biggest Concern on Sunday?

For Bill Belichick, Ed Reed may be "the one that got away." Back in April of 2002, Belichick and Scott Pioli chose to take tight end Daniel Graham with the 21st overall pick in the NFL draft. Reed went just three picks later, and after eight pro bowl appearances and eight all-pro teams, the Patriots head coach may still be kicking himself. But after eleven seasons in the...

Patriots fall in an ugly game in Baltimore

Julian Edleman dropped this second quarter pass Honestly, when the fourth quarter came around, I don’t think either teams fan base wanted to win the football game. They really just wanted to find head referee Bruce Hermanson’s car and throw chicken-milk stink bombs at it. In the end, it was the Ravens who came out victors over the New England Patriots, after a little bit more...
