Projo Pats Blog:
By Brian MacPhersonFOXBORO -- Rather than leaving town on Saturday, as they normally would, the Patriots packed up and headed for the airport shortly after the end of practice in Friday afternoon.
The extra day will give the Patriots a day to get adjusted both to the new time zone and to the altitude in Denver. They've lost each of the last three games they've played at Invesco Field dating back to 2005, including a 20-17 overtime defeat in 2009.
Rather than traveling on Saturday, the Patriots will have a chance to treat Saturday like a home game -- including a walk-through.
"I don't know if it's a huge deal, but it's still a long flight, and getting there early and making sure we put ourselves in position, if there's any acclimating we do, to do it, and get ready for the game," Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker said.
BEST OF MAXIM
FOXBORO, Mass. -- The Patriots are getting ready for one of the most anticipated regular-season games in years, and it has the pregame hype of a clash with the Peyton Manning-led Colts or anyone-led Jets. As such, it's time to talk Tim Tebow, the Patriots' defense, wide receivers, Rob Gronkowski and plenty of other stuff in another edition of the Patriots mailbag. Jeff, I...
New England Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo agreed to terms on a five-year contract, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Saturday.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but the 25-year-old Mayo was set to make $750,000 in the final year of his rookie deal in 2012.
A Pro Bowler in 2010, Mayo has collected 68 tackles and two interceptions this season.
The 10th overall pick of the...
Patriots’ wide receiver/kick returner/new defensive back Julian Edelman was arrested (mug shot on the right) back on November 1st and charged with “indecent assault and battery” for allegedly groping a women during a Halloween party at Storyville night club on Exeter St. in Boston’s Back Bay. Today the charges were dropped, and the Suffolk County DA’s office issued this...
New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman issued the following statement on Thursday, December 15, 2011...
Tom Brady is a pretty unflappable guy. After four Super Bowl appearances (three rings) and countless game-winning drives, Brady is used to pressure and doesn't get rattled or lose his cool much. That's why seeing him look upset in a photo taken during a recent practice was so surprising. Earlier this week, we asked readers to submit their own altered photos explaining why...
The New England Patriots have signed Pro Bowl linebacker Jerod Mayo to a five-year contract extension, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Saturday.
It has been a hectic, Tim Tebow-filled week in Patriots land. Sure, sure, we discussed other things, but no one dominated the discussion like the Broncos quarterback. Before we ship out to Denver to get ready for Sunday’s matchup, colleague Karen Guregian and I broke down the week that was in our weekly video. Here it is, as edited by Bob Greim:
In the current streak of improbable comeback wins, which has reached six, the Broncos have stymied a variety of quarterbacks.
The Tim Tebow show has arrived for Patriots fans. Cam Newton is having a great rookie season, much better than Tebow’s sophomore campaign. However, the difference is Denver has a very good defense compared to Carolina’s sorry bunch. The Broncos have two great edge rushers in Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil.
Though he’s getting up there in age, Champ Bailey still shuts down...
