The Patriots were missing another tackle today. Tackle Marcus Cannon missed his first practice, joining Sebastian Vollmer on the sidelines. That’s what colleague Ian Rapoport reports from the upper grass field. The injury is something new. If he and Vollmer are both out, that’s two tackles, which could lead to the promotion of Matt Kopa from the practice squad. The Pats would have to make a roster transaction for that to happen. Running back Stevan Ridley returned after missing two practice sessions to deal with family business back in Mississippi. Also linebacker Brandon Spikes, who is back this week from a knee injury, has looked pretty good, according to Rapoport. That could mean he’ll see action Sunday in Washington.
