The Patriots downgraded four players to out, including a player who was thought to be ready to go.
Safety Patrick Chung, center Dan Connolly, LB Brandon Spikes, and RB Shane Vereen all were declared out for tomorrow’s game against the Redskins. Chung has missed the last month with a foot injury, and I had thought he would be ready. Maybe they are being overly cautious.
As for Spikes, he’d only practiced twice with his knee injury, so maybe next week is his target. Connolly is nursing a groin injury, and he’ll be replaced by either Ryan Wendell or Nick McDonald. And Vereen was nursing a hamstring.
In all, nothing that will kill them tomorrow. But considering they released Sterling Moore today, safety is incredibly thin. Maybe it’ll be something different tomorrow…
