Found October 14, 2012 on D's Sports Nuts:
Seattle's home crowd might be the loudest in the league New England Patriots (3-2) @ Seattle Seahawks (3-2)  The Seahawks are a surprising 3-2, even though one of their victories came after a controversial call against the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. The Seahawks home-field advantage might be the best advantage in the league because of the overwhelming volume they reach.  This could be a problem for the Patriots because in comparison Gillette Stadium is like a library during home games. To have the best chance at winning the Patriots have to come out strong in the first quarter to silence the crowd. The Seahawks are 2-0 this season at home and in the past two seasons they have been 11-7 at home (including this season).  Besides the decibel level of the crowd, the Seahawks have the number one defense in the NFL in total yards given up.  Against the Packers, the Seahawks had eight sacks in the first half.  Tom Brady is not as quick as Aaron Rodgers and with a banged up Logan Mankins, the Patriots will have to focus their effort on running the ball.  Stevan Ridley should get plenty of chances to throw some body punches to the stout defense.  If the running game doesn't produce, then the chance of winning will be stacked against Brady and the Pats. At the same time, do not be surprised if the Patriots shock the Seahawks by starting in the no huddle and pass, pass, pass. Aaron Hernandez made the trip with the team which could mean he will play.  This strategy could also tire the big men on the Seahawks D. Also, keep an eye on Chris Clemons and Bruce Irvin when the Patriots try to pass.  Clemons has 5.5 sacks and Irvin has 4.5.  Irvin has been one of the best speed rushers in the league this year. On offense, the Seahawks boast an explosive running game starring Marshawn Lynch (508 yards) and quarterback Russell Wilson, who will challenge the linebackers to stay with him.  Wilson does not have a ton of talent to throw to at receiver.  The top three are Golden Tate, Sidney Rice and Braylon Edwards.  All three have shown flashes of being special but this season they have not been called on to carry the offense. Rice (6'4") and Edwards (6'3") are big and physical which the corners for the Patriots are not.  Tate is the size of Deion Branch and has the ability to run after the catch.  The Patriots will be challenged but overall have the talent and superior coaching staff to win this away game. Who in the heck are these Seahawks: Can they beat the Patriots?

We are more familiar with the teams in the AFC; Jets, Dolphins, Bills, Steelers, Broncos, Ravens and Texans, and even some in the NFC East Giants and Eagles, but we have to do some digging to get some information on the team playing in the “Emerald City”. Before we look at the team, let’s look at the Seahawks’ secret weapon – Century Link Stadium. The Seahawks are 3-2 in...

Seahawks' Richard Sherman promises to continue quieting media haters

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman wants to be known as one of the league’s top corners, and he wants the respect for his team that he feels they deserve. He’s loudly taking care of both. Sherman went back and forth with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, and got the last laugh after the Seahawks upset the Patriots at Qwest Field. Sherman has now turned his attention to...

Seattle has no time to enjoy win with 49ers next

The Seattle Seahawks had no time to enjoy their comeback victory over New England. Not with division rival San Francisco up next and only a couple of days to get ready. The Seahawks were already cramming on Monday in preparation for Thursday night's game on the road. Both Seattle and San Francisco have 4-2 records and are part of a three-way tie with Arizona on top of the NFC...

Brandon Browner crushes Wes Welker with huge hit (Video)

Seattle Seahawks defensive back Brandon Browner crushed New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker with a monster hit during Sunday's game at CenturyLink Field. It happened in the second quarter on a 7-yard pass from quarterback from Tom Brady. Welker was hit by Browner as soon as he caught the pass. However, as of the time of this post, Welker still leads the team...

Seattle's late rally stuns Patriots 24-23

In the midst of watching his team rally with 14 points in the final 71/2 minutes, Seattle coach Pete Carroll forgot about his history as a one-time coach of the New England Patriots. He was too busy celebrating Seattle's unlikely comeback and a starring performance by rookie quarterback Russell Wilson. "That's funny that you even bring that up. I hadn't even thought...

Interview with SeahawkAddict Scott

I had a chance to interview Scott Robb (Twitter: @RealScottRobb), a content writer at SeahawkAddicts (the Seahawks blog on Bloguin).   Raj Vaidya: You were at the game against Carolina last week. While you did enjoy the win, what did you learn from the game and who impressed/disappointed you?                Scott Robb: I was most impressed with the way the...

Seahawks CB Brandon Browner destroys Patriots WR Wes Welker

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner put a MONSTER  hit on New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker on Sunday afternoon. Check it out: That's the life of a slot receiver, and it makes you respect Welker's incredible production (especially given his 5'9", 185-pound frame) that much more. It's also why receivers like Austin Collie and Laurent...

Patriots blow lead, lose at Seahawks

The New England Patriots blew a 13-point fourth quarter lead to lose 24-23 at the Seattle Seahawks. Russell Wilson found Sidney Rice for a 46-yard touchdown with 1:27 left to tie the game at 23. Steven Hauschka's extra point gave Seattle the lead, and after Tom Brady and the Patriots were stopped short on fourth down, the final margin was secure. New England falls to 3-3, while...

Take that Brady, Seattle corner says we’re better

There are many reasons not to like Tom Brady, so many that I don’t feel like writing the novel on it.He’s a competitive guy and that showed against the Seattle Seahawks as he was obviously frustrated at times cursing himself after he threw his two interceptions on the day.The Seahawks wanted to make sure they rubbed it in a little after the game on Sunday when cornerback Richard...

CLNS Staff Predictions: Patriots at Seahawks Week 6

After coming off an exciting 31-21 victory over the Denver Broncos, the Patriots will make their first long distance trip of the year to the west coast to Seattle. The Seahawks are 3-2 on the year and have a very good and tough defense, which may present the Patriots with some matchup problems. During their [...]
