The Rap Sheet:
Yesterday, Patriots LT Matt Light didn’t “remember” the 2007 Super Bowl, saying, “I don’t even think I was here for 2007.”
Well today, G Logan Mankins was asked about his memories from that painful game, specifically how their quick guys attacked the middle of their offensive line in Super Bowl XLII.
“Nah,” Mankins said, giving the stiff-arm. “That was four years ago. Next question.”
On other, more pressing issues, Manknis said his injured knee is feeling better. He was pretty pleased about the bye.
“Yeah, I would say (the time off) has helped,” Mankins said. “I made it through the whole game last (week) so that was good. And this week is going to help even more, so I’m glad we had this week off.”

New England Patriots offensive lineman Logan Mankins addresses the media during his press conference at Gillette Stadium on Friday, January 27, 2012.
FOXBORO, Mass. -- Super Bowl XLII? Matt Light has never heard of it. That was his message Thursday when he was asked about the team's loss to the Giants four years ago. "I don't even think I was here in 2007," the Patriots left tackle said. "I can't answer that one." The Patriots have answered questions about Super Bowl XLII differently throughout...
Patriots LT Matt Light is doing a nice thing for this Super Bowl. Sure, he may rumble with Giants DL Osi Umenyiora during it, but he’s being nice before it. The veteran is hosting a raffle for two Super Bowl tickets at LightRaffle.org to raise money for his foundation. He talked about that and the Giants. Check out my video:
FOXBORO, Mass. -- As the Patriots' roster has turned over in recent seasons, left tackle Matt Light has found himself as the third most tenured veteran in the locker room. As such, he's just one of three players who remain from all three of the franchise's Super Bowl championship teams. Light, quarterback Tom Brady and running back Kevin Faulk will also play in their...
The Patriots are flying to Indianapolis later today, but they spoke about a bunch of things having to do with Super Bowl XLVI before they left. Specifically, G Logan Mankins and WR Wes Welker addressed that nasty Giants pass-rush, QB Tom Brady’s competitiveness, and some other stuff. Check out my video:
It’s true in life that you really do learn something every day. Today I learned that Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora isn’t too fond of Patriots offensive lineman Matt Light.
Supposedly they’ve gotten into fights during previous games in which they’ve played against one another.
Osi was asked why he hates Light so much.
“I don’t know what it is that he does, but it’s...
FOXBORO, Mass. -- Three former Boilermakers are heading home for the Super Bowl. The Patriots have three Purdue alums -- left tackle Matt Light, linebacker Rob Ninkovich and linebacker Niko Koutouvides -- who are excited to play in the Super Bowl less than an hour from where they starred in college ball. Naturally, they'd be happy to play in the Super Bowl if it was on Neptune...
New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora and New England Patriots left tackle Matt Light know each other all too well.
"Me and him, we have history, and we’re gonna rekindle that on the football field,” Umenyiora told ESPN New York. “I don’t know what it is that he does, but there’s something that he’s doing that really gets under my skin, and we just fight....
Osi Umenyiora has gotten into two fights on the football field in his life, he said on Friday. The first one was against Matt Light in the regular-season finale against the Patriots in late 2007. The second one was against ⦠Matt Light in the Nov. 6 game against the Patriots this season.
Matt Light quips, "I don't even think I was around here in 2007"
Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora and Patriots tackle Matt Light have fought twice on a football field. The Super Bowl national media would like to thank Umenyiora for reminding us. “I don’t know what it is that he does, but it’s something that he’s doing that really gets under my skin,” said Umenyiora on Friday…
