Madcatz.com: They first battled each other in Super Bowl XLVI and now several of the NFL’s top athletes took their prowess to the center of the Halo 4  ring to fight each other in front of the ESPN SportsNation cameras. Players from the Super Bowl XLVI Champs, the New York Giants, included Victor Cruz, Ramses Barden and Terrell Thomas playing as Team Cruz. The New England Patriots’ team included Rob Gronkowski, Wes Welker and Donald Thomas playing as Team Gronk. It was a best-of-three showdown and both teams went blow-for-blow for bragging rights and the opportunity to be crowned the Halo 4  Bowl Champions. In the first round, Team Gronk took the lead in a show of excellent skill and strategy, but Team Cruz came back for revenge in round two to tie it up.  In the final battle, Team Gronk thought they had finally beaten their rival foes but as they went to capture the flag, Team Cruz was waiting for the kill.  After a hard-fought round, the Super Bowl Champs (aka Team Cruz) denied ...

Jacquian Williams, Chase Blackburn out on Sunday for New York Giants

The New York Giants will be relatively healthy this Sunday as they prepare to take the field against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Although the Steelers have yet to release their final injury report, the Giants look to be in good shape this weekend, save for a few injuries to the linebacker core. Without further delay, here is Big Blue's final injury report of the week. OUT ...

Justin Tuck: Steelers offensive line has ‘gotten away with murder’

One of the best ways for the New York Giants to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend would be to put some pressure on Ben Roethlisberger — something very few teams have had success doing this season. Roethlisberger has been sacked only 13 times through the first seven games, which is one of the reasons he has completely nearly 67% of his passes and has an impressive QB rating...

Hakeem Nicks Nearing Full Health

New York Giants wideout Hakeem Nicks (foot, knee) says he's "pushing 90, 95 percent" of his top form heading into Sunday's game against the Steelers, according to USA Today.Fantasy Spin:Nicks estimated he was 60-65 percent when he played against the 49ers last month after missing three straight games. He's been relying mainly on his ball skills to make plays...

Sterling Moore's Release From Patriots Surprising, But There's Always a Method to Bill Belichick's Madness

Bill Belichick has a tendency to surprise people, but there always seems to be a method to his madness. That's why, although cornerback Sterling Moore's release on Wednesday did come as a surprise, there had to be some thought behind the move. Moore, a second-year defensive back who went undrafted out of SMU, was the unexpected hero of last year's AFC Championship Game...

New York Giants: On The Verge Of Annual Midseason Collapse

The defending Super Bowl champs are looking pretty good right now having won their fourth straight game. Sitting atop the NFC East with a record of 6-2 might lead fans of Big Blue to think they’ll cruise into the playoffs with a first-round bye, right? WRONG! If history tells us anything, it’s that the New York Giants are about to go into hibernation, and if you don’t believe...

'Eli Manning Looking at Things' Takes Internet by Storm As Newest Hilarious Sports Meme

Eli Manning is a terrific quarterback. There's no one who can deny that. But Eli Manning is also kind of a goofy dude, and we mean that in the nicest way possible. So it was only a matter of time that the Eli photo to end all Eli photos would become an Internet sensation before too long. The photo below popped up earlier this week, when someone snapped a quick...

Patriotic Halfway Awards

Here we sit halfway through the season chilling and recovering on our bye week. What better time to evaluate the team across the board and hand out some awards to those that have worked hard through the season.MVP - LB/DE Rob NinkovichObvious choice here is Tom Brady. But I'm thinking outside the box here. This award is going to go to LB/DE Rob Ninkovich. Heading in to week 9...

Aqib Talib traded to Patriots

Aqib Talib was traded to the New England Patriots on Thursday, capping what was one of the most quiet trade deadline periods in recent memory. The terms of the deal between the Buccaneers and Patriots were not announced. Talib is serving a four-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy. He’s already sat out three games, but the Patriots are...

Week 8 Review – Catharsis Before the Bye

Talk about a major understatement. This came from my preview: “The one key difference between Miami and New England is the passing offense. New England has real weapons and can threaten the Rams defense. Miami could not.” While accurate, the comparison is ludicrous. Comparing the New England passing game to the Miami passing game is similar to comparing a spring shower to Hurricane...

Steelers-Giants to go on as scheduled

Sunday's NFL game at the Meadowlands between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants will go on as planned despite concerns about the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. Commissioner Roger Goodell spoke with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie to discuss transportation issues that could arise. Christie, according to NFL spokesman Greg Aiello, says the league would not be ''...
