Before I race down to practice to see Big No. 92, Albert Haynesworth, on the field, a few housekeeping items. Sure, it’s minutiae, but at least it provides an explanation on those cuts yesterday. The Patriots reported to the league that DL Ty Warren, DL Marcus Stroud, TE Alge Crumpler, OLB Tully Banta-Cain, CB Tony Carter, and OL Nick Kaczur all failed physicals. Now, none of this is shocking, as all had injuries. Kaczur had a back and a shoulder, Stroud had a shoulder, Warren had a hip, Crumpler had shoulder surgery. But is that the reason they were released? Maybe, maybe not. All could have been given a chance to heal, and Captain Crump may be back at a lower salary. In fact, Warren said he didn’t fail a physical, but couldn’t finish the run because of a hamstring injury and not the hip. Is that the same thing in the Patriots mind? Maybe. Because he could attempt the run, he passed some sort of physical. But not the whole thing? Maybe they wanted to cut him anywa...
