Much uncertainty is shared all around about whether the current Patriots offensive line is up to the task of keeping Tom Brady upright this season. Questions are being asked: who's gonna step up, who'll be the weak link, and can someone get Brain Waters on the damn phone for at least some type of answer about his status?

Listening to left guard Logan Mankins talk to reporters yesterday, you get the impression that all is well in o-line land:

"It's coming together. We've had a couple guys miss a lot of time [him and Vollmer], so we're still working on it," Mankins told reporters (via ESPN Boston).

"We have a lot of work to do between here and Sunday, and hopefully we can put our best out on the field. We have to trust in each other and work together. We're going against a good team. They are a young defense, very athletic, very fast, and they play really hard. It's going to be a big challenge."

Mankins, who returned to the field only recently, looks ready to contribute on Sunday against the Titans, but there's still questions of whether he's primed for regular season football. Things are looking a little different this year on the line; instead of Matt Light, we'll see Nate Solder, instead of the recently cut Dan Koppen, we have Ryan Wendell.

Mankins, however, points out that the confidence is still there.

"The main thing is you do your job and trust them to do theirs and everything will be fine. It's when we start worrying about the guys next to you is doing is when things get messed up," he relayed. "It's the three of us seeing it through the same set of eyes. There should only be one call, and that's the right call. If we start making too many calls, and guys are saying too many things that we don't need out there, it gets guys confused. We have to be on the same page and trust that call and everyone do what it says."

Time will tell shortly with their first test against the Tennessee Titans Sunday.
