The New England Patriots like to do things in twos, as evidenced by their drafting of same-position players close to each other the last few years.Now, the same can be said about their reaching into the Canadian Football League pool. New England signed defensive tackle Armond Armstead, formerly of the Toronto Argonauts, last week to a futures contract and has agreed to terms with defensive end Jason Vega of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, according to the Boston Globe.Armstead spent three seasons (2008-10) playing at USC before suffering a heart attack in 2011. He sued USC and a pharmaceutical company in 2012, claiming two injections he was given caused the ailment.Armstead recorded six sacks in 18 games in 2012 for Toronto, where he signed after not getting a shot in the NFL.Vega, who played college ball at Northeastern, tallied 12 sacks in two seasons with Winnipeg and is currently still under contract with the Blue Bombers, who will officially sign him when he's released, according to...
