FOXBORO, Mass. -- I've always loved the NFL draft. The buildup is exciting, and it's even more fun to watch as it plays out unpredictably. And while I think the Patriots had one of the best draft classes this year, there were a lot of teams that did well to improve last week. But as much as I love the draft, I can't say enough how excited I am that it's over because that puts the focus directly on the field. Coincidentally -- or maybe not, actually -- the Patriots transitioned into their second phase of offseason workouts this week....

Tom Brady 2007 Season - All 50 TD’s (by vcmoss81) It’s pretty crazy that the band is getting back together, except Randy which doesn’t really both me all that much because at this point I think Brandon Lloyd is the better player. I know Gaffney’s signing has a lot of people writing Chad TBD off even moreso, but I’m not so quick to. The Patriots are going to give him a fair...

Patriots sign WR Jabar Gaffney.

It did not take long for Jabar Gaffney to catch on with a team after being released by the Washington Redskins earlier this week. Gaffney will reunite with both the New England Patriots and his on again/off again OC Josh McDaniels who also coached him in Denver. Stability is the word that always comes to mind with Gaffney whose production has never waned. The Patriots have a very...

Draft Grades: New England Patriots

The New England Patriots are always a tough team to predict in the draft, and Bill Belichick proved why once again. Belichick builds his own draft board and sticks to it, regardless of how it matches up with the consensus opinion. I was somewhat surprised by the trade up for Chander Jones, but I like the pick. He’s a perfect fit at end/linebacker in the Patriots hybrid defense...

Robert Kraft Shares Emotional Note Sent From Junior Seau After Myra Kraft's Death

FOXBORO, Mass. -- Patriots owner Robert Kraft fought through tears Thursday to share one of his favorite memories of Junior Seau. The gesture was as genuine as they come. Kraft found out reporters were at Gillette Stadium, so he walked to the media room to reveal a note Seau sent him after Kraft's wife, Myra, died last year. The note was written inside a folded white card, which...

Tom Brady, Jerod Mayo Among Patriots Offering Memories of Junior Seau's Time in New England

FOXBORO, Mass. -- Matthew Slater got a rare opportunity to get some snaps at safety against the Cardinals during his rookie season in 2008, and as he jogged backed to the huddle, he looked up and had a "wow" moment as he realized he was listening to Junior Seau give some defensive orders. Slater had plenty of superstar teammates that season, but none like Seau, who actually...

Talking Chandler Jones with Jared Smith

With the dust settling on the 2012 NFL Draft, we decided to dig up some information on the newest members of the Patriots.  We took some time to get to know Chandler Jones by speaking with Jared Smith of CNYSportsfan.com.  Jared covered Syracuse football this past season and was able to bring some unique insights into the Patriots' top pick.  Here is our Q&A session with...

Maybe Wes Welker isn’t getting the message…

Wes Welker has been locked into contract negotiations with the New England Patriots virtually since the moment the Patriots walked off the field after their Super Bowl loss to the New York Giants but there has been very little progress. Instead Welker has had the pleasure of watching the Patriots receiving core get a whole lot deeper over the offseason. The latest signing is an ex...

Chad Ochocinco tries out his waiter skills (Video)

In case you were wondering what New England Patriots wide receiver Chad Ochocinco was up to, Chad's been doing a little bit of everything to help his teammates out. Check out the below video of Ochocinco helping deliver food to his Patriots teammates Deion Branch, Julian Edelman, and Brandon Lloyd in a downtown Boston restaurant: (Courtesy of Sweater Punch)

Jonathan Fanene On The Differences Between The Cincinnati Bengals And New England Patriots

Former Bengals defensive end Jonathan Fanene bolted Cincinnati soon after receiving a phone call from New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, quickly signing a $12 million deal over three seasons. Fanene left Cincinnati as one of the team's better pass rushers and versatile players, playing as much defensive end as he did defensive tackle during obvious passing downs...

Josh McDaniels’ Denver influence brings back Jabar Gaffney

We remember when Jabar first came to New England in October 2006. He went on to learn all three wide receiver positions; something we have found out isn’t quite easy to do (Chad Ochocinco). Welcome back Jabar Gaffney, a 60 Max favorite has agreed to a two-year contract. In 2009, we screamed when Bill Belichick allowed Gaffney to walk to Denver for short money, where he blossomed...
