New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels left the franchise once, but it might take a home-run offer to get him to do it again. ESPN reported Monday that McDaniels, considered a priority interview candidate for multiple head-coaching vacanices, has informed suitors that he's planning to remain with the Patriots for the 2013 season and isn't interested in participating in the interview process. While McDaniels said Monday that he's not looking to leave, he didn't entirely rule out the possibility. "I'm happy here, my family's happy here, and we're excited about what's ahead of us here in the playoffs," he said. "To talk about any other opportunities at this point is, to me, irrelevant, because I'm totally focused on this season and what this season holds, and couldn't be more excited to be here and be a New England Patriot and try to do the best job that I can with the title that I have now." McDaniels posted an 11-17 record in nearly two full seasons as head coach of the Denver Broncos from 2009-10. He returned late last season to the Patriots as an assistant coach after spending most of the 2011 season as offensive coordinator of the St. Louis Rams, and was promoted to offensive coordinator when Bill O'Brien was named head coach at Penn State. Coach Bill Belichick has seen many assistants leave and encounter difficulty, including McDaniels, Charlie Weis and Romeo Crennel, as head coaches. But he praised McDaniels, saying he does "a good job in all areas" and has "meant a lot." "As far as any other situation, I really couldn't comment on any other team or situation," Belichick said. "I have no idea what somebody else is looking for or what their criteria are or what their situation is, for that matter, as an outsider. As I said, I think Josh has done a great job this year. How that fits into some other situation, I have no idea."
