Found December 16, 2012 on The Penalty Flag:
I know that’s hard to believe right, but the current Patriots’ offense is more potent than the 2007 version. In 2007, the Patriots went undefeated with Tom Brady and Randy Moss setting a few records along the way. How could an offense that went undefeated during the regular season in 2007 be even more dangerous now, especially after losing a speedster and play-making weapon like Moss from its arsenal? It’s hard to tell just looking at the numbers but the speed at which they operate confuses and tires a defense. The Patriots were not able to duplicate their undefeated regular season record this season and Brady’s numbers haven’t quite measure up to some of the statistics he posted in 2007 or 2011.… Read more

Have Patriots fans forgiven Wes Welker?

Tears filled his eyes as Wes Welker of the New England Patriots explained to the media that he should have caught the pass from Tom Brady that would have moved them closer to winning Super Bowl XLVI. A day after the Super Bowl the New England faithful bashed Welker including Tom Brady’s wife. It was Welker’s first drop with the Patriots that was 10 yards or more down field...

Rob Gronkowski practices, not expected to play against 49ers

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski participated in Friday’s practice but he’s not expected to play in Sunday’s game against the 49ers. I’m told that, though he did get out to practice today, it’s still considered unlikely that Rob Gronkowski will play on Sunday. — Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) December 14, 2012 Right now it looks like Gronkowski is on pace to...

You Guys, You Made Tom Brady SOOOO Mad

Tom Brady spiked the ball! That’s what he did it! What a competitor! The Patriots made a game of it after being down 28 points, but even with a half to march back, New England couldn’t recover from their huge first half bed-********. Instead, they ensured they’re gonna have to head to Houston should the Pats and the Texans reunite for a January rematch. That’s okay. It...

NFL.com’s Albert Breer has reported that Gronkowski practiced on Friday with the Patriots for the first time since breaking his arm against the Colts on November 18. The injury was controversial [...]

Getting to Brady could be key for 49ers

As Aldon Smith chases down the NFL record for sacks, his specialty becomes of particular significance this week when the San Francisco 49ers face New England and the NFL's top-ranked offense. The Patriots have encountered problems most often this season when opponents put quarterback Tom Brady on his back. Nobody in the league has done that to quarterbacks this season better...

Fantasy Forecast: Week 15

QB Tom Brady It’s tough to ever advise benching Brady in a fantasy league, but owners who have a top-rate backup with a better matchup could at least consider the possibility. The 49ers are tough against the pass, and this game doesn’t figure to be a points bonanza. Brady is probably still good for 280 and 2 scores, but that is not an automatic start for most teams who are...

Rob Gronkowski returns to practice

Gronk is back at practice. It appears that Kyle Love is the only Patriot missing. Sweats and shells, inside Gillette Stadium.— Michael Whitmer (@GlobeWhitmer) December 14, 2012Is this a sign that Gronkowski will play Sunday night against the 49ers? No way in hell. However, it's definitely a positive sign that he's on track with his recovery. The initial time table that was...

Peyton Manning Will Win MVP Over Tom Brady Because of Sentiment (Video)

With the NFL entering its final two weeks, the MVP race is coming into clear focus. Most of the attention right now is on the ever-present duo of Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, with Adrian Peterson running in third place. So which one do you think should take home the hardware? That’s the question that NESN Daily posed to Matt Chatham and Jeff Howe, who debated the issue on opposing...

Peterson, Manning and Brady lead heated NFL MVP race

This week playoff races usually start to sort themselves out as teams are able to establish themselves late in the season. This season is a little different as this Sunday only made the playoff picture even cloudier. Dallas, Washington, Minnesota, and Seattle all helped their cause while the Giants, Steelers and Bears put themselves in very intriguing positions.   The race for...

A Letter to Tom Brady

Dear Tom Brady,   Please do not take this letter as anything personal. Your team just demolished a juggernaut Texans squad and you’re about to face a slugfest with the boys from San Francisco later tonight. So before I go any further, I wish you the best of luck; however, no matter if you win … Continue reading »

Character Builder: Patriots Don’t MAIL IT IN Like The Texans In Failed Comeback Vs. Niners

Patriots & TB12 Fought Hard As Theur Comeback Fell Short Vs. Niners. The New England Patriots dug themselves a HUGE hole versus the 49ers on Sunday trailing 31-3. Unfortunately, their shovel was not big enough as their furious comeback fell just short 41-34. But their is a SILVER lining to this loss if there is such a thing. The Patriots DID NOT GIVE UP. They showed their BRASS...

The San Francisco 49ers Take on the New England Patriots This Sunday with Playoff Implications on the Line

This Sunday night the San Francisco 49ers will have to endure their greatest test of the season as they travel to take on the New England Patriots. With a win against the Patriots the 49ers will clinch the NFC west division and at least clinch a wildcard spot for the playoffs. What’s even more important with a victory, is the knowledge that they can afford to rest some of their...

Lead writer Nick St. Denis and AFC East Daily contributors Dan Begnoche and Sean Donovan pick the New England Patriots' primetime showdown with the San Francisco 49ers.Nick's take:The Patriots are up against their toughest task to date, which we said last week. Remember how that went? The 49ers are a much better team than the Texans, though, starting with the best scoring...

New England Patriots rally from 31-3 to tie but lose 41-34

This was a sloppy one. I don't think I've seen a game this bad since.... 2002 maybe. That being said, the Patriots already have the division locked up, are missing Gronk, and going up against one of the best teams in the league, the team I personally think is number 2. Some points:Chandler Jones hasn't had the same sort of impact since his injury. He's getting almost...

Fantasy Football Love/Hate Week 15: Blame The Guy In The Red Suit

I hate Tom Brady. I hate Shayne Graham. I hate David Akers. I hate the fantasy playoffs. I hate Santa. And I especially hate Terry McAulay. So what if I’m in a bad mood. It’s only been a few days since my team choked on a Monday night in Foxborough, Mass., when it looked like The Mojo Xpress had a berth in the conference championship game locked up. Instead of starting Akers...
