The New England Patriots came into today's game as heavy favorites against their division rival Miami Dolphins. The Patriots have made it a habit of putting a lot of points on the board in their 5 game winning streak, scoring a combines 219 points while giving up only 107. That fact alone spawned the prediction that we would see another blow-out in Miami. But the Dolphins had other ideas; they have been one of the biggest thorns in the Patriots' side in recent years, accounting for nearly half of their losses on the road. The first half was somewhat lopsided, seeing the Patriots do most of the scoring (despite a missed field goal by Stephen Gostkowski in the first quarter)  until the Dolphins managed a sustained drive culminating in a touchdown with only 34 seconds left in the half. The third quarter can best be described as stagnant, as the two teams traded field position, but little else for 15 minutes. The fourth quarter saw the Patriots' 10 point lead suddenly in jeopard...

The New England Patriots winning ugly will only help them later

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots won the AFC East in Miami on Sunday The stadium formally known as Joe Robbie stadium has always been the New England Patriots “little shop of horrors”. No matter how good the New England Patriots are, or how bad the Miami Dolphins are, it always plays out as a game that the Patriots will find some way to choke away down the stretch. Today...

Wes Welker goes from “phased out” to NFL record breaker

Wes Welker terrorized the Dolphins secondary on Sunday to move into the NFL record books Remember back in the beginning of the season when Wes Welker was getting “phased out” of the Patriots’ offense? It was during the first two weeks when he wasn’t even listed in the starting line-up, was barely getting targeted, and there was even talk that the Patriots’ were doing so...

Hot News for QB Tom Brady

Tom Brady Makes Good on Bet With Mike Vrabel, Wears Ohio State Jersey After Michigan Loss (Photo)

An old rivalry has Tom Brady — or at least those playing around him — seeing red. The quarterback was again on the short end of the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry this week after the Buckeyes polished off their undefeated season with a win over the Wolverines. That meant Brady, a proud Michigan alum, was once more stuck wearing an Ohio State jersey for a day thanks to a running...

TGS WEEK 14 POWER RANKINGS: WATCHING BRADY, MANNING

A lot has changed in this league over the last decade or so, but one thing remains the same: Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are constantly in contention in December. And while Manning is in a new home now, that's again the case this year. You could argue that despite some serious concerns Brady's Patriots and Manning's Broncos are in prime positions to meet in the playoffs...

Dolphins give Patriots scare, but lose at home

MIAMI (AP) -- With the game on the line, the quick-strike New England Patriots showed they can grind out a drive, too. As a result, they're the AFC East champions. Tom Brady had his least efficient game of the season and even threw an interception, but he led a clock-consuming drive in the fourth quarter Sunday that helped the Patriots beat Miami 23-16 to clinch their fourth...

Gameday Deciding Factors: Patriots at Dolphins

In an odd scheduling quirk, the Miami Dolphins (5-6) and New England Patriots (8-3) waited until December before their first matchup of the season, which will take place Sunday at Sun Life Stadium in Miami. Tom Brady and the Patriots have been steamrolling all comers lately, while the Dolphins hope to keep their playoff hopes mathematically alive by upsetting the division leader...

Patriots preparing everyone to block J.J. Watt

In a league that features weekly man-to-man battles between elite pass rushers and high-paid offensive tackles, J.J. Watt is a little different. Not because he draws a double-team, but because he draws a team-team. Watt lines up all over Wade Phillips' defensive front depending on the situation."... we’re going to have to have more than one guy ready to handle him and...

Vote: Which Player Would Look the Strangest in His Rival’s Uniform?

It’s always strange to see veteran players change teams late in their careers. It’s especially strange when those players have to change into their chief rival’s colors. After seeing Mike Vrabel‘s tweet this week that showed Tom Brady wearing the crimson and grey of Ohio State, it got us thinking how bizarre it would be to see Brady in a Jets uniform. The Jets have been one...

Message to Colts fans…

It’s fourth down. Your team is down by five. There’s four seconds on the clock. And it’s 14 yards to the end zone. Who do you want as your quarterback? Tom Brady? Peyton Manning? Andrew Luck? How many Colts fans would have picked our rookie quarterback at the beginning of the season? And now…after Sunday? Andrew Luck is quickly becoming that quarterback. That quarterback...

Patriots 23, Dolphins 16

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - New England is efficient enough without help, but Miami mistakes led to 17 first-half points for the Patriots, who defeated the Dolphins 23-16 Sunday to clinch their ninth AFC East title in 10 years. The Patriots won their sixth straight game as they improved to 9-3 and guaranteed a 12th straight winning season. A fumbled snap on a punt, a roughing-the-kicker...
