The New England Patriots are placing Donte’ Stallworth on injured reserve and adding Deion Branch again as his replacement. Stallworth suffered a high ankle sprain just a week after he returned to the team as a free agent.
Stallworth, 32, was added to the roster when Julian Edelman went on injured reserve, but made the most of his short stay, as he hauled in a 63-yard touchdown reception in Monday night’s 42-14 win over the Houston Texans.
Another familiar face will be taking his place, as Deion Branch is being brought back again, according to Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe.

Branch, who was released from the team last month for the second time this season, re-joins Matthew Slater, Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd as the only active players at the position and Slater primarily plays on special teams.
