New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was named one of the AFC Players of the Week for Week 8.
Brady threw for 304 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in a 45-7 rout of the St. Louis Rams in London, England, during the NFL's International Series on Sunday to earn the offensive award. He became the fourth player in NFL history with 50 career games with at least three touchdown passes.
It is Brady's 22nd career weekly award, tying him with Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning for the most all-time. Source: The Sports Network Attached Thumbnails

Brandon Spikes Working Hard Even in Bye Week, Says He Feels Like He's 18 Again (Video)
FOXBORO, Mass. -- Brandon Spikes turned 25 just before the
start of the regular season, which actually makes him one of the more senior
players on the Patriots defense. But even at his "old age," in the
locker room at least, Spikes says he feels like a teenager again.
"Honestly, this is the best I've ever felt in my life.
I feel like I'...

Patriots Release CB Sterling Moore
In an unexpected move, the New England Patriots released cornerback Sterling Moore Wednesday evening.
The team also signed defensive back Derrick Martin and linebacker Mike Rivera. New England had an open roster spot after parting ways with linebacker Bobby Carpenter.
Moore, a second-year player, served predominately in a reserve role and appeared in all eight games. Last year...

New England Patriots trade for Buccaneers’ Aqib Talib
The good old Pats are at it again, zigging when everyone thought they’d zag by actually making a trade at the deadline for cornerback Aqub Talib. Talib is currently suspended for Adderall but is eligible to return next week.
There’s no question he could be useful in the Patriots secondary, especially if they’d like to...

Patriots Release LB Bobby Carpenter
The Patriots cut LB Bobby Carpenter on Tuesday, the team announced.
Carpenter re-joined the Pats as extra linebacker depth because of injuries to Donta Hightower and Tracy White. He appeared in four games and made two tackles.
The former first-round pick made 29 tackles playing in all 16 games for the Lions last season.
New England did not make a corresponding move. Source...
Midseason Report Card: Defensive Edition
While their 5-3 record indicates the Patriots have some holes, this team could very well be 8-0 if not for a few fourth-quarter lapses.
As the offense continues to put up huge numbers, the defense has had its moments of brilliance and embarrassment.
After dedicating six draft choices to the defense, the results have been mixed.

New England Loves Playing in Olde England
That title is as witty as this is going to get. Frankly, I’m baffled at the way the Patriots have played this season. Sure, New England just housed the Rams, but that should be the norm, not the exception. Did it really take Josh McDaniels seven weeks to realize Rob Gronkowski is the most uncoverable receiver in the NFL? Really? Did it really take Matt Patricia seven weeks...
Tom Brady Takes Shot at Pete Carroll’s “Could Be 8-0 Record” Comments
Everything I stated about how much of a joke Pete Carroll’s comments about the Seahawks could be 8-0 were further solidified today; by none other then Tom Brady. When asked about his team’s 5-3 result there were no ifs and or butts, it was the proper answer and explanation all winning players provide. Not dreaming unrealistic career .500 records like Petey boy. Here’s what Brady...
Patriots get Secondary Help; Acquire Talib from Tampa Bay
The New England Patriots secondary has clearly been the eyesore of the team so far during the 2012 season and are currently 29th in NFL in total passing defense. In order to fix the problem, the team made the only move in the NFL on trade deadline day but acquiring talented but troubled Tampa Bay [...]
Week 8 Review – Catharsis Before the Bye
Talk about a major understatement. This came from my preview: “The one key difference between Miami and New England is the passing offense. New England has real weapons and can threaten the Rams defense. Miami could not.” While accurate, the comparison is ludicrous. Comparing the New England passing game to the Miami passing game is similar to comparing a spring shower to Hurricane...
BUcs trade CB Aqib Talib to the Patriots
Tweet The New England Patriots have acquired cornerback Aqib Talib from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Terms of the deal were not immediately available. Talib has had multiple run-ins with law enforcement since the Bucs drafted him 20th overall in 2008, but still has a world of talent. Talib has been arrested twice in his young [...]
