The Patriots got out on the practice field today for the first time in preparation for Sunday’s AFC Championship showdown with the Baltimore Ravens.
The biggest name missing? Tom Brady.
Colleague Ian R. Rapoport was out on the lower grass fields where Bill Belichick conducted practice. He reported No. 12’s absence. Given Brady met with the press earlier, and didn’t seem to be in bad shape following his six-touchdown effort against the Broncos Saturday night, this is probably nothing more than a prescribed rest day for the franchise quarterback.
Brady has missed an occasional Wednesday, so it’s not unprecedented. Meanwhile, tight end Aaron Hernandez, who missed the last series of the Denver game with an apparent head injury, was out on the field. He has stated he was fine, so his presence supports that. Beyond Brady, Rapoport indicated everyone else was present for the practice, which saw players and sweats and shells.
