Bad passes and drops.
So far that's been the story of the Patriots offense. Certainly, the evidence would back that up.
Tom Brady is currently completing just 56.9% of his passes, the lowest mark of his career. A lot of that has to do with some rookie wide receivers who haven't been able to catch the ball.
According to NBC Sports, the Patriots have 3 of the top 6 wide receivers with the most drops in the NFL.
Rookies Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Dobson are both tied for second with six drops a piece. While Julian Edelman is tied for fifth with five drops. The Patriots are the only team with three players in the top 10. The Browns (Davone Bess, Josh Gordon) and Lions (Reggie Bush, Calvin Johnson) both have two. Former Patriot Wes Welker makes the list tied for eigth with four drops.
Patriots' Brandon Bolden also makes the list tied for 17th with three drops.
