Good news for Patriots fans hoping for an early contribution from rookie cornerback Alfonzo Dennard. He'll stay out of jail, at least for the time being. Or at least for most of the regular season, we should say.
Dennard, the Pat's 7th round pick, waived his right to a speedy trial on Tuesday, according to Lincoln Journal Star/HuskerExtra.com. He was granted a continuance with a new trial date for December.
As reported earlier, he pleaded not quilty in December for assault of a police officer at a Nebraska bar on April 21st.
