Found December 06, 2013 on Pro Sports Daily:
The Patriots on Friday ruled out rookie wide receiver Aaron Dobson (foot) and starting right tackle Marcus Cannon (ankle) for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns. Both players were injured in a Week 12 matchup with the Denver Broncos and have not practiced since that time. A timetable for their respective returns is not known. With Dobson out, the Patriots might turn to veteran receiver Austin Collie, who was re-signed this week. In addition to Dobson, fellow rookie Kenbrell Thompkins (hip) is questionable and practicing on a limited basis this week. Veteran Will Svitek is expected to earn his second consecutive start in Cannon's place. He's the third player to man the right side of the line for the Patriots this season, as season-opening starter Sebastian Vollmer was previously placed on injured reserve.

Patriots longshot FB Develin never gave up

The fullback with the Ivy League engineering degree wouldn't be stopped. James Develin kept moving his legs after being knocked back on his leap with the ball at the 1. More than half the defenders hit him. None could keep him from scoring. The play that began at the left hash mark ended about halfway to the left sideline. That's where Develin finally fell into the end...

Bald Tom Brady a Truly Disturbing Sight, But Other NFL Quarterbacks Look Normal Without Hair (Photos)

Photoshopping can get out of hand sometimes. Other times, though, it provides answers to all of life’s great “What if?” questions, such as the important musing of what modern, model-like NFL quarterbacks would look like without hair. Mandatory.com has done the heavy lifting on this one, taking clippers to the top of the heads of some of the NFL’s biggest names to see what...

Alfonzo Dennard Has 30 Days Added to His Jail Time at Probationary Hearing

Alfonzo Dennard was not with the Patriots today as he had a scheduled probationary hearing in Nebraska. Dennard experienced an incident in July where he was pulled over for drinking and driving, which violated the terms of his probation (Dennard was accused of assaulting a police officer in Nebraska right before his draft and he plummeted in the draft as a result). Today...

Patriots’ Cornerbacks Have Excelled in Man Coverage This Season, Winning Their One-on-One Battles

FOXBORO, Mass. — For the first nine weeks of the season, when the Patriots’ defensive backs were healthy, New England mostly stayed in man coverage. Then, as injuries started to mount, the Patriots came out of the bye week flashing more zone looks against the Panthers, Broncos and Texans. Carolina and Denver were able to find some holes in New England’s zone in Weeks 11 and...

Patriots vs Browns: Week 14 preview

The New England Patriots will take on the Cleveland Browns this Sunday at 1:00PM EST in Foxborough, Mass. It’s a game that most would expect to be a blowout, or at the very least, a fairly easy win for the Pats. Don’t take these Browns for granted though. They have a stout defense and a rising star at wide receiver. Will that be enough to pull off the big upset? Let’s find out... Read more

Patriots Match-Up Mania: 60-Minute Men

Can Tom Brady and the Patriots play a complete game Sunday? No offense intended, Cleveland, okay? The top match-up I’ll be looking at tomorrow is the game clock. Yes, NFL.com tells me the 4-8 Cleveland Browns feature the league’s 4th-best defense, but somehow that still doesn’t strike fear into me. And. hey, Houston is third. As the New England Patriots girds for another playoff...

Alfonzo Dennard due in court today

New England Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard is due in a Nebraska court today to hear the fate of his near future. The 2:30 PM probation hearing is for a continuance his lawyer, Alan Stoler, filed yesterday. If Dennard gets granted the continuance, the sentencing would be delayed until after the 2013 NFL season is over. The loss of Dennard would be a huge blow, as the Patriots...

Patriots Could Help Porous Run Defense by Ditching 3-4, Going Back to 4-3 Base Defense (Mailbag)

FOXBORO, Mass. — With Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Dobson banged up, the Austin Collie signing was not even a little surprising. Collie helps improve the team’s depth at receiver, but if Thompkins and Dobson have to miss this week’s game, there will still be a lack of downfield targets in New England. Collie, like Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman, is more of a slot...

Bill Belichick’s Dubious Fashion Choices With Browns Remembered As Coach Faces Former Team (Photos)

Bill Belichick seems to be in good spirits heading into this Sunday’s matchup with the Cleveland Browns, his former team (not the same Browns, but whatever). He had good memories of his time coaching in Cleveland (as well as a sick burn against the Jets) this week when asked about the organization, and everything that’s happened in his second head coaching job, in New England...

Aqib Talib and Josh Gordon Set to Face Off

The marquee match up between the Browns and Patriots (and for fans of football in general, at least there is ONE this week) will be between Aqib Talib and Josh Gordon, the Browns wide receiver who has been the most dominant receiver in the NFL over the past couple of weeks. Gordon is coming into the Patriots game having just completed a 261 yard receiving yards game (he'...
