The Rap Sheet:
Patriots safety Patrick Chung is listed on the team’s injury report as “doubtful,” which means there isn’t much of a chance he’ll play on Sunday against the Broncos. But there is an even better way to know that he won’t play.
According to eyes on the scene during the Celtics scrimmage (including WEEI.com), Chung is in the front row watching. The team left for Denver this afternoon, and it’s obvious Chung wasn’t on the flight. So, he’s out against the Broncos.
Chung injured his foot against the Giants, and has missed the last five games, while a bunch of players have filled in for him — Sterling Moore, Matthew Slater, Julian Edelman, etc. Now, he’ll miss his sixth.
The team has an empty roster spot, and it makes sense they’ll promote a safety to fill the void. It’s either Ross Ventrone or Moore, and perhaps Ventrone gives them more on special teams. Tune in tomorrow for more exciting surrounding the 53rd spot.

The charges have been dropped against Patriots WR Julian Edelman. He released a statement after the groping allegations disappeared. There’s only one thing left to do. See the surveillance video that led the district attorney to drop the charges. The Herald obtained it today, and it is below:
Well, it has been a few weeks. And Ross Ventrone was likely getting restless. So, the Patriots accommodated him.
The Patriots announced today that Ventrone was promoted to the 53-man roster to fill a spot that opened up when they released DB Malcolm Williams. Ventrone was the choice, I’d think, for his special teams prowess and for what he can add at safety.
Patrick Chung stayed...
Massachusetts prosecutors on Thursday dropped charges against New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, who was accused of groping a woman at a nightclub last month, The Boston Globe reported.
Edelman, 25, was arrested after a woman claimed he reached under her Halloween costume and touched her below the waist at a Boston club on Nov. 1.
But prosecutors said they "...
Patriots WR Julian Edelman will no doubt be breathing a sigh of relief when practice ends. That’s when he’ll likely find out that Suffolk County prosecutors will be dropping the groping charges against him for an incident that occurred on Halloween.
This almost certainly means the NFL won’t be suspending him, which is nice for the Patriots.
The key part of the decision comes...
The Patriots' jack of all trades caught Tebowmania this week, as wide receiver Julian Edelman ran the option offense this week for the scout team in anticipation of Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Edelman wasn't the only player they used on the scout team. Quarterback Ryan Mallett got some work there in his usual capacity, but Edelman was the primary quarterback who...
By Mike McDermottProsecutors in Massachusetts have dropped groping charges filed in November against Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman.
Edelman had been accused of touching a woman inappropriately on a dance floor at a Boston nightclub. Suffolk County prosecutors say they did not find enough evidence to prove an intentional act of indecent assault. The investigation included...
The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office has dropped the criminal charges against New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman. The DA says he would have a hard time proving the charges beyond a reasonable doubt.
Edelman was accused of groping a woman on the dance floor during a Halloween dance at an upscale Back Bar nightclub on November 1. He was charged with indecent assault...

The New England Patriots announced today that DB Ross Ventrone has been signed to the 53-man roster from the practice squad.
BOSTON—Prosecutors have dropped an indecent assault and battery charge against New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman, saying evidence suggests he just briefly grabbed the hand of a woman who accused him of groping her.
