Earlier today, the Patriots gave out their 17th Difference Maker of the Week honor, handing 84-year-old Virginia Hartin a medal and a signed football. At HESSCO Elder Services in Foxboro, they also passed out meals to grateful seniors and spoke to them about football.
It was a nice event, one attended by DE Jermaine Cunninghan and center Dan Koppen, along with joined Koppen and former Patriots Patrick Pass, Roland James and Steve King. It all celebrated “Senior Advocate Volunteerism Week.”
“Just a great opportunity,” said Cunningham, who wouldn’t answer football-related questions. “Coming off the holidays, I had a great Christmas, and I’m keeping it going. To have an opportunity to give back and put a smile on somebody else’s face (is nice). All the time growing up, people helping you out, people giving back, just now I got a change to help somebody else.”
