Found March 13, 2013 on Patriots Life:
The Patriots agreed to a 5-year deal with Danny Amendola, source says. 5 years, $31M. $10 guaranteed. Avg: $6.1 — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 13, 2013 I think we could all see this happening, my question is why. This is essentially the same amount that Welker signed for with the Broncos, so really you are replacing a guy who has been a perennial beast in the slot with a guy who is much less proven and WAY more injury prone. For the same money. On the other side, at least the Patriots now have someone other than Brandon Lloyd (who might get cut) and Matthew Slater. I might expect the Patriots to get in on Greg Jennings to give them a down-field threat. The question is, why are they just replacing Welker's exact same role with someone that's not Welker, and for about the same money? There HAS to be more to this story, because it's starting to not really make any sense. Anyway, welcome to New England, Danny.

Report: Browns, Buccaneers interested in trading for Ryan Mallett

According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, both the Buccaneers and Browns are interested in trading for Patriots back up quarterback Ryan Mallett. The Browns and Buccaneers have expressed interest to the Patriots in trading for quarterback Ryan Mallett, but a deal seems unlikely at this point, according to a source. The CBA doesn’t allow players to restructure their contracts...

Warren Sapp F-Bombing Belichick Via Open Mic On NFL Network

Guess Warren Sapp is tired of listening to NFL blowhards talk about Bill Belichick. Listen closely to what Sapp had to say on a hot mic as some blowhard talks to Scott Hanson about the Patriots draft philosophy. You hear Warren f-bombing the Belichick angle. Warren is then reminded that the NFL Network could play the Seahawks angle and lose viewers, which would lead to less advertising...

As expected, Patriots are not going for Nnamdi

I'm as heartbroken as anybody right now. Watching Wes Welker leave for nothing more than an average contract has to make you think that the Patriots have something up their sleeves... RIGHT?? Well according to SI.com, Bill Belichick's master plan will not include free agent CB Nnamdi Asomugha. The teams interested include the 49ers (seriously, where are they getting...

Immediate Thoughts On The Patriots Ditching Wes Welker For Danny Amendola

Just before I left work today a co-worker interrupted my conversation to tell me that Wes Welker was gone, on his way to Denver.  A minute later, thanks to the wonders of twitter, I saw that it was a two-year deal.  I became puzzled, wasn’t that what the Pats offered Welker last year, a deal he rejected?  I rationalized that Welker surely got two years and $16 million or more...

I think there’s a contingent of Patriots Nation, mostly of the female variety, that will be just fine bringing Danny Amendola to New England.

Tom Brady Reacts to the Loss of Wes Welker

There are actually reports surfacing that Touchdown Tommy was enraged that the Patriots let Wes Welker escape to Denver. Granted the two of them have some serious chemistry, but I don’t think Danny Amendola should be overlooked. If that guy can stay healthy, he’s pretty damn good. It’s too early to tell, but the Patriots offense was a juggernaut and Welker seemed like a perfect...

Sean Smith signs with the Chiefs, setting market for Aqib Talib?

Dear Patriots, Please at least sign Aqib Talib. Patriots fans really only had three of our own free-agents we cared about re-signing. Can we at least keep one of them? The Patriots were apparently interested in Sean Smith, but not that much I guess. He just signed with the Chiefs today for three years. Sean Smith joins the Chiefs on a three-year deal, according to his agent, David...

Wes Welker, Broncos in serious contract talks

Wes Welker may be hooking up with a future Hall of Fame QB after all. The former New England Patriots standout wide receiver is in “serious talks” with the Denver Broncos today, the second day of free agency, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.  The team reportedly wants to “hammer out a deal” with the All-Pro slot receiver. Welker, 31, had 118 catches for 1,354 yards last year...

The “Tuck Rule” is Endangered

The call that pushed the Patriots to the top of the football world 11 years ago may now be getting scrapped.   The “tuck rule” headlined Thursday’s announcement by the NFL’s Competition Committee that there will be six proposed rule changes, three proposed bylaw changes, and two proposed points of emphasis. Yes, Raider fans, they are finally proposing to change it.   It’s...

Danny Amendola Reportedly Signed With Patriots on Tuesday, a Day Before Wes Welker Signed With Broncos

So, Danny Amendola wasn’t a reaction to Wes Welker‘s exit, after all. According to Tom E. Curran, the Patriots and the former Rams receiver agreed to the five-year deal on Tuesday — not Wednesday when the signing was leaked. That being said, Curran believes that the Pats had likely already moved on from Welker and went after Amendola when No. 83 went on the market. Check...

Wes Welker’s Departure Stings, But Patriots Fans Must Believe in the Genius of Bill Belichick

The easy thing is not always the right thing. That is the hardest part about running a successful NFL franchise. Unless you’re Bill Belichick, that is. The hoodie and his minions — and/or staff — have always been very much about putting the business first. While some teams add players to try and liven up their fan base or re-sign guys based off emotion and sentimentalism, Belichick...

Leon Washington Signs 1-Year Contract With Patriots

New return man for the Patriots Leon Washington snaps a picture of himself via instagram with the quote #Blessed. Lets Go #Pats. New England is well on their way to filling the Wes Welker void.  They first acquired slot receiver Danny Amendola, and have now got their return game in place with Leon Washington.  The Patriots have a history of making good with New York Jets leftovers...
