The New England Patriots just added some size and depth in the offensive line today as the team inked guard Tyronne Green to a deal. Green;s agents, Schwartz and Feinsod, have confirmed the signed via Twitter. Green was one of the four players brought in last week for workouts and wasn't initially offered a contract, but the Pats like what they saw. The signing of Green now leaves the Patriots with 89 players on its roster, with just one slot open. Green, an Auburn University product, was the starting left guard last season for the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers drafted Green in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft and has made 28 career starts in 41 games. Green can be somewhat versatile as well, playing some center in his NFL career. The 27 year old guard from Pensacola, Florida is switching teams for the first time in his four year NFL career. Tyronne Green will join Logan Mankins and Marcus Cannon, however Belichick would prefer Cannon at tackle, on the depth chart at le...

Armond Armstead, Tommy Kelly Provide Patriots Much Needed Interior Rush, Allowing Vince Wilfork to Play Proper Position

It took awhile, but the Patriots have finally found a pair of defensive tackles that should be able to put some pressure on the opposing quarterback. The void in the middle of the Patriots’ defense hasn’t been there for a lack of effort. If anything, the three-technique defensive tackle position has almost been cursed since New England switched over to a 4-3 base defense. The...

New England Patriots Select Aaron Dobson in Second Round

2.27 New England Patriots Aaron Dobson, WR, Marshall, (6-3,210) The New England Patriots hope they have found the answer to their vertical passing problems with Dobson, a vertical threat out of Marshall. Considered raw, he hasn’t put up monster numbers or faced top competition. However, he can create seperation on many routes, has strong hands and is the type of receiver that goes...

The New England Patriots announced today that they released defensive lineman Brandon Deaderick, which is a surprise since he’s a young guy that’s been productive for them. The 6-foot-4, 305-pounder, has played...

Can Aaron Dobson Break Belichick's Bad Luck at Receiver?

With the 59th overall pick in this year's NFL Draft, the New England Patriots selected six-foot-three-inch Aaron Dobson, a wide receiver out of Marshall.  The selection of a wide receiver was viewed as a need, especially having lost Tom Brady's favorite target over the past five years, Wes Welker, to free agency.  Belichick has had mixed results in the past when it comes...

Donald Jones Says Patriots’ New Wide Receivers Are Helping Each Other Learn Difficult Playbook

FOXBORO, Mass. — It’s no mystery that new wide receivers — veterans and rookies alike — have had trouble learning the Patriots’ playbook in the past. Joey Galloway, Taylor Price, Chad Johnson and countless others have come to Foxboro and seen an early exit because of difficulty grasping the complex system. Donald Jones Says Playing With Tom Brady Is ‘Dream Come True,’ But Doesn’t Want to Sound Starstruck

Not many wide receivers can say they’ve played with a quarterback on the same level as Tom Brady. Donald Jones definitely can’t, though. The new Patriots wide receiver took a strange route to the NFL that had him going from junior college at Lackawanna College to FCS-level ball at Youngstown State to the NFL with the Buffalo Bills. That means Jones played with junior college...

Shane Vereen Has Become Diehard Bruins Fan, Found New Respect for Hockey Since Moving to Boston

FOXBORO, Mass. – Shane Vereen wasn’t much of a hockey fan growing up. Moving to Boston has changed that for him. Vereen grew up in Valencia, Calif., about 30 minutes outside of Los Angeles, but he never really became all that enamored with the LA Kings or the sport in general. But, when the Patriots drafted him in the second round of the 2011 NFL draft, Vereen was thrown right...

Taking a little walk down memory lane with this three-part video...

Taking a little walk down memory lane with this three-part video recapping one of my favorite dynasty seasons, 2006. It was a frustrating end, where the Pats just ran out of gas, but it was a fun ride, including an epic win over the Chargers that I was eight rows in back of the Pats bench for. 2006 Brief History of the New England Patriots Part 1 (by mquesenbm)

Te'o holds rare press conference

Manti Te'o is just one of the guys. He's confident he can be a three-down linebacker in the NFL. It takes some serious leverage to play against tight end Antonio Gates.
