According to Michael Lombardi of the NFL Network, the New England Patriots have signed free agent offensive lineman Robert Gallery.
Gallery spent last season with the Seattle Seahawks after playing seven years with the Oakland Raiders.
The Patriots also signed free agent wide receiver Dante Stallworth to a one-year deal. He played for the Redskins in 2011.
I’m not the surprised Bill Belichick and the Patriots have signed a couple more veterans that might be able to contribute once they’re coached up.
BEST OF MAXIM
Wide receiver Donte Stallworth finally got his long-awaited wish. He has reunited with the Patriots. "I'm smiling ear to ear," Stallworth told NESN.com on Monday. Stallworth caught 46 passes for 697 yards and three touchdowns during his lone season with the Patriots' record-setting offense in 2007. However, he signed a six-year contract that included a huge escalator...
A person with knowledge of the negotiations says wide receiver Donte Stallworth has agreed to a one-year contract to return to the New England Patriots.
The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity on Monday because he was not authorized to speak on the matter.

Hot News for OT Robert Gallery
Bill Belichick is always on the lookout for talent, especially in free agency. New England may have found another player worthy of the opportunity to rejuvenate their career in former first round pick Robert Gallery. Cast off by the Raiders, and now the Seahawks, Gallery agreed to terms with the Patriots.
The handwriting was on the wall with this one. LaRon Landry signed a one year, $4 million deal with the New York Jets for the 2012 NFL season. The Washington Redskins left Landry unprotected when they applied the franchise tag to a healthier Fred Davis.
Joe Gibbs added the first round 2007 Draft pick to the roster to pair him with the late Sean Taylor to force more "coverage...

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick loves good, quality football players, and he landed one Monday. According to Michael Lombardi of the NFL Network, free agent quarterback Alex Smith has agreed to terms with the San Francisco 49ers on a new contract. It’s likely the three-year, $24 million deal that the 49ers have been offering him for the past month or so.
At the end of the day, Smith clearly thought he was a lot more valuable on the open market as a free agent then he...
Michael Lombardi is reporting that Peyton Manning is currently finalizing a contract with the Denver Broncos, ending his 14 year run as the AFC South's king. There's a part of me that's disappointed to see him leave, but another part of me is glad to see him gone.
For awhile, it appeared that Manning would simply make the transition to the Tennessee Titans and remain...
The New England Patriots know who they want, and they're signing them fast.
Robert Gallery, who was the second overall pick of the 2004 draft, Gallery, 6’7, 325 brings a huge presence in the interior line and surely will get some hands-on time with Dante Scarnecchia.
Gallery started his career in Oakland as a left tackle, but eventually moved inside to guard. He is a dominant...
New England Patriots Pro Bowl guard Logan Mankins suffered a late season knee injury which kept him out of the season finale; however, it got even worse. During the Super Bowl Mankins tore his ACL and continued to play.

Mankins, who is the Patriots...
