The New England Patriots have decided to examine one offensive tackle more closely during his Pro Day.

During Southern Methodist University's Pro Day, Patriots scout Alex Brooks pulled Hyrin White to the side and ran him through drills on his own.

The Patriots are in need of a left tackle after losing Trent Brown in free agency. They re-signed Mike Onwenu, who will play on the right side, while also bringing in former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Chukwuma Okorafor. But a clear left tackle would be key for the team.

And it seems White caught New England's eye.

He is viewed as a potential Day 3 selection or even possibly a UDFA

White began his college career at Missouri, redshirting his first season in 2017. He went on to play a total of 19 games in 2018 and 2019, but did not see time on the field in 2020 due to injury.

However in his redshirt season senior, he started all 11 games at right tackle. And then once again in 2022, he was sidelined because of an injury.

For his final year, White transfered to SMU, where he played and started in 10 games.

He has played at both left and right tackle, specifically taking 104 snaps in 2018, 13 snaps in 2019 (Missouri), and 2 snaps in 2021 at left tackle.

A to Z Sports' Tyler Browning provides more information on White:

"He allowed 14 hurries and 15 pressures. However only one of them went for a sack. He has the size you want coming in around 6'7, 330."
