After making their initial splash, trading up twice to nab top end linebackers Chandler Jones and Dont’a Hightower, Bill Belichick and the Patriots are looking to take Saturday off. With only two second round picks (42, 62) left, many expect Belichick to wheel and deal, but in reality, it looks like they wanted the front end of this draft. There have been rumors that the Patriots are not enamored with this draft and the blueprint for that theory is shown in the 2007 draft in which Belichick only made two selections. An interesting scenario is Janoris Jenkins from North Alabama, an immensely talented corner who has top 10 skills, but also off field concerns. The Patriots are one of the few teams with the type of influence and confidence to bring in a player with a checkered past. Aaron Hernandez came with red flags in 2010, but that didn’t stop the Patriots from using a 4th round pick on him. They also took Marcus Cannon even though he had been diagnosed with cancer and would p...

Patriots trade up again and select Dont’a Hightower What in the world is going on, two trade ups!??! For those of you who have been paying attention you know I didn’t see the Hightower fit for the Pats because he seemed too much like Spikes. But there’s no question he’s a talented linebacker and I will be extremely curious to see how the Pats plan to use him. Whether it...

Patriots fan makes Mrs. Irrelevant parody – Mr. Relevant

The 2012 NFL Draft has come and gone.  We managed to survive almost being mock drafted to death, but somehow we made it.  And part of what helped us make it was Brianne from New York – a.k.a. Mrs. Irrelevant.  Brianne proposed a night alone with the last pick of the seventh round, unofficially dubbed Mr. Irrelevant.  That lucky man turned out to be Chandler Harnish, the former...

Patriots stick around, trade back into later rounds

After picking the 24th ranked safety Tavon Wilson in the draft at 48, the Patriots decided they would like book the hotel room for another night. They traded away their 62nd overall pick to the Packers and received a 3rd (90th) and 5th round pick (163rd).
