Earlier in the week, practice squad center Nick McDonald was spotted taking snaps from QB Tom Brady and backup Brian Hoyer. It was considered a just-in-case situation, as injuries to center Dan Connolly (groin) and backup Ryan Wendell (calf) left the Pats thin there. Just-in-case has happened as the Patriots will active McDonald to the 53-man roster for tomorrow’s Colts game, indicating that either Connolly or Wendell will sit out. McDonald is a 6-foot-4, 305-pound second-year player who was signed as an undrafted free agent from Grand Valley State by the Packers in 2010. He was grabbed by the Pats from the Packers after cut-down day.

FOXBORO, Mass. -- The scorekeepers proved Sunday they're the only ones who can take touchdowns away from Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, because opposing defenses haven't figured out how to do so. Gronkowski scored three times during the Patriots' 31-24 victory over the Colts at Gillette Stadium, and he became the first tight end in NFL history to score 14 touchdowns...

Halftime at Gillette Stadium: Patriots 17, Colts 3

It’s not the lop-sided affair that many expected. AT least, not yet. After 30 minutes of play, it’s Patriots 17, Colts 3. It was a slow start for the Patriots, getting an early field goal, then standing for 10 minutes as the Colts kept the ball on a lengthy field goal drive. Finally, tied at 3, they got it together. Using their hurry-up look, they drove 86 yards in 16 plays,...

When the Patriots host the Colts tomorrow at Gillette Stadium, they will not be obsessed so much with their opponents’ 0-11 record - as Bill Belichick insisted all week - as much as they will be concerned about their own streak of dominance in December.
