This could all be moot if the Texans try to wrap up their superstar defender but it would not stun Eric Edholm of Pro Football Weekly one bit if the Patriots make a play for DE Mario Williams. Bill Belichick is nothing if not opportunistic, and he knows that having one of the finest defensive talents potentially come free like this is a once-a-decade kind of thing he can't afford to pass up. Letting Richard Seymour go was a rare Belichick mistake, and sources have said that the coach admits he hasn't been able to adequately replace his former D-lineman. Reports have surfaced that the Texans seriously are torn and are starting to accept the idea that they might have to let Williams walk. Belichick can build a defense around Williams, and everyone who knows him knows he's a team-first winner, as well as a rare, game-changing talent.

NFL Rumors: Could the Titans Be After Mario Williams?

It seems unlikely that the Houston Texans can retain Mario Williams. Williams has big money looking to be paid to him and their salary cap could be in a hole even if they franchise-tag the pass-rusher. Many rumors have him going other places, such as the New York Jets. The Jets and Rex Ryan have been looking for an elite pass-rusher to fit their solid 3-4 scheme. They are just a...

Patriots to try and sign Mario Williams?

Eric Edholm of Pro Football Weekly believes Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots could try and sign Houston Texans defensive end/linebacker Mario Williams once he becomes a free agent on March 13th. I honestly don’t see Belichick going after Williams, since he was still able to get a solid pass rush this season with Mark Anderson, Vince Wilfork and Andre Carter.  And...

Golf has helped Bill Belichick take his mind of another Super Bowl loss

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said this week that being able to play in this weekend’s pro-am tournament at Pebble Beach was a good thing, since it helped him get his mind off of last Sunday’s Super Bowl loss to the Giants. “It’s been tough,” Belichick said. “It’s a tough couple days, but Pebble Beach is a great spot to take your mind off some...

Do the Patriots' belong with the best?

Every NFL dynasty must end. The cruelties of age, finances of free agency and emergence of other superpowers eventually finish them. This is the reality the New England Patriots. After the Patriots lost Super Bowl XLVI to the New York Giants, head coach Bill Belichick was not in the mood to discuss anything but the game itself, and even that was a brief affair. He stared straight...

If NFLers were 'Star Wars' characters

This weekend nerds (including myself) around the world will be headed back to the theatre for Star Wars. Star Wars episode one is back in theatres this weekend but this time new and improved and in 3D. Although everyone and their weird friend who dresses up like Chewbacca considers the Phantom Menace a huge disappointment, there is no doubt the Star Wars movies are an experience...

Bobby Valentine Enjoyed His Super Bowl Trip, Anticipates a Visit from Bill Belichick in Fort Myers

BOSTON –– Bobby Valentine helplessly watched as Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's last heave in Super Bowl XLVI fell to the ground. Having cultivated a friendship with Patriots coach Bill Belichick over the past two months, the Red Sox manager couldn't completely enjoy his Super Bowl trip to Indianapolis last weekend. "It was real quick in and out," Valentine...
